nberry:Ceramic matrix grey metallic. 640hp; 2.6 60mph; quarter mile 10.5; all for less than $100,000. What's not to like? It gets my attention.
It is an amazing car, not just a bargain. You may need to have a relationship with a dealer however.

nberry:Mike, you're right. I'm working on that now. My wife says I'm not a Corvette type guy. The car gives you performance, beauty and open top fun. Hard to beat.
Same reason I think is was a Tesla guy minus the beauty part. Go for it!

It's posible Nick, Corvette has always had a negative image here and didn't carry much respect due to its build and handling, and the fact that Vettes in Europe were insultingly overpriced for what they were didn't help since there was no bang for the buck at least, and so there may be a negative subconscious bias here, myself included.
That said, the engine sounds really good with it's high and fast revving flat plane crack and the specs of that NA V8 are great, especially in this era of easy and cheap HP turbocharged engines, but the design inside and out does not fit, somewhat caricaturesque to me.

Since Porsche had locked me after 20 years of loyalty, I think this will be my next car if I can get my hands on one.

CGX car nut:Impatiently waiting for delivery of my first American made car in decades. Tentative date is early December but that can easily change.
A 2023 Z06?
Exhaust sound of the Z06. The convertible looks really good.

Nick, I am quite with you on the new Z06. It is an amazing car, before even considering the money part.
But I have to imagine, even with ADM, this car will still be a bargain compared to the competition, which are 458s and Huracans. Heck, even Audi R8s aren't quite a match.
Some people wanted to pit it against the Boxster because of the price bracket, but I think it punches well above it's weight class and it goes straight into the guts of the Italians. Do I want a dime a dozen Huracan or 458? Or do I want a unique Corvette?
The Z06 is what happens when the engineers in an auto company escaped the wraith of the accountants and cut all the red tape. Heck, the whole C8 program is pretty much that. Most of the time, for most companies, the engineers are the ones on the losing end. But sometimes, just sometimes, the engineers win. 20 years ago, even Renault engineers won the battle and produced the mid engined Clio V6 Renault Sport.
Ford has those moments when they did the Cobra R, a few times even, and the GT350 with the flat plane crank engine. Chrysler/Dodge got it with the Demon. The Z06 is another GM moment, after the Camaro team did the ZL1 1LE.
Skunkworks in the automotive field. The Big 3 aren't out of ideas, engineers will always have ideas, but whether they get implemented is another story.
I am picturing if some engineers at Tesla locked themselves up in a room, and decided to cut out all the fluff from Elon, aka all the useless automated stuff, put in real suspension and proper luxurious interior and made a great car out of a Model S. A Tesla equivalent of a Mercedes S63. That's one Tesla car that I would buy.

From the technical description of the E-Ray, it seems like the Corvette version of the Porsche 918.

I think the Zora will be the 918-like version with 4-digit power figure.

According to this, ZR1 will be like E-Ray, but Z06 engine plus hybrid. Zora will add twin turbos?

Too bad the e-ray isn't a plug in.
I would gladly take the 20lbs or so extra weight for the benefit of it being labeled a PHEV and reap all the extra benefits from the government.
