Regarding rennteam roadtrip/meeting, i'm just going to put this out here:
https://youtu.be/kwal30Qu35QAmazingly brilliant video!! How did you find this one Joost?
This is actually something fantastic but this would require a proper planning and I'm just not capable of that.
So if someone is volunteering, I am pretty sure we are getting a couple of cars together to make it happen for a day...
I think I can help you to get in contact with the guy who did the camera work (if it is the same one who did the magazine)

It doesn't have to be that complicated, we could just join in on an existing organized roadtrip, you've got several organizations providing these packages. Club Mulholland offers an Alpine Grandtour for example, and they're heavily Porsche minded...

bgnnh:Anyone know the details of the recall to replace PDK in some of the 991 GT3 RS?? Is this really needed if no issues have been seen? Porsche is not saying much, just that some part is not within spec and they want to swap the PDK with a "new" one.
This campaign was out a while ago. Its VIN specific and relates to an internal PDK part that is potentially out of tolerance. My car was recalled and had a new box from Germany. Seems minor but best to get it done and your service book stamped etc.
did 1050km today in the GT3RS, two persons + luggage, grosseto to vienna. no issues, no low oil level warning. pretty comfy car actually. noise level on a long drive: i still like it, but at the end of the trip it did get a bit tedious. fixed bucket seats perfect. my wife did not complain at all, she happily shared some of the driving. excellent DD car....seriously:::))))
cheers peter

Quite a drive in one day And I agree , the RS is way more confortable on long runs then, for example, the 997 carrera S ,,,

Does anyone have any insider rumors about how this went?

I have an update on the car bellow ( posted in June , but I had not the possibility to talk to the owner at that time )
In order to have the sides of the spoiler clean, the black metal piece has been machined and made to fit nicely .
About the behavior on the track : the car gets VERY unstable . It is not recommended at all to do that if you track.
Also for speeds on German autobahn it also destabilizes the car .
It is only good for speeds in speed limited countries .

Thanks for the update. Is it a quick fix to remove and place? If I had a 991 RS I'd also consider doing it and just put it back for track work...

Funny, when I posted a similar comment on a US Porsche forum a many years ago when someone removed his GT3 wing, I got ridiculed up to a point where I stopped posting there.
If people would look into the aerodynamics development of Porsche, they would realize how much development work is needed and how many very smart engineers make it happen.

Lamborghini, Ferrari and other sports brand, don´t use these pimp huge wings on their cars, I´m sure Porsche would find a way to make the 911 stable without those wings if they wanted too.

Also, many customers seem to want a wing or ducktail or whatever on their cars.
Just met a Huracan driver from NL in my hotel's parking lot, beautiful color combo, some sort of orange with an orange/black interior. Maybe I can take a photo when the owner leaves the car (he parked it next to my R8 next to the parking guard hut but seems to want to sleep in it...he hasn't left it for 15 minutes now LOL). I talked to him briefly and he asked me if the R8 rear carbon wing would fit his Huracan because he loves it. Told him about that "aerodynamics"(?) package Lambo seems to offer for the Huracan but he didn't know anything about it. I just hope I didn't get it wrong.
Bottom line is: Many owners love their wings and yes, I like mine too but wouldn't want a fixed one on a 911.

I dont mind wings but given a choice, I would not opt for it... It detracts from the lines and design of the car. I find diffusers much nicer to look at than wings. Wings scream lack of efficiency, engineers work hard to lower the drag of a car then tack on a wing? Seem counter intuitive.
A while ago I would have agreed 100% with you but I think the wing fits a GT3 RS pretty well BUT not so much a GT3 for example. I also like the Huracan without a wing, very good looking car but on my R8, that carbon wing looks very nice and I wouldn't want the car differently. Oh well, this thing costs almost 4000 EUR to replace, so... LOL I also like the Aventador SV with the wing but I would hate a Ferrari 488 with one. Some cars just look good with a wing and the GT3 RS is definetely one of them.
