Wife's are discriminating this car big time. Mine refused to even sit in it.

Notwithstanding the dynamics, how is this car on longer  trips? I mean in terms of comfort, noises, and feeling of security at higher speeds.

Is it comparable to a powerful MINI, for example in this respect?

    Toyota GR Corolla

2023 Toyota GR Corolla leaked ahead of reveal, with engine outputs

Powering the car will be the GR Yaris' 1.6-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine – but rather than the smaller three-door's 200kW/370Nm, outputs has been turned up to 224kW and 370Nm, per rumours out of Japan in recent months.

Drive  will continue to be sent to all four wheels on tarmac or gravel through  a six-speed manual transmission only, with no automatic available – at  least at launch.

The  gearbox is connected to a GR-Four all-wheel drive system, with the same  choice of Normal, Sport and Track modes as the Yaris, capable of  sending up to 70 per cent of the power to the rear wheels.

Needs a price below the Volkswagen Golf R, since the Golf R is a more mature car compared to the Corolla GR.  However, the circuit variant sounds interesting.

    Re: Toyota Yaris GR

    Snap! Good taste sir LOL!

Mine is on the way from Japan and is scheduled to be in my garage by end if the month.

Been busy buying upgrade parts for it as it will be seeing track duty. Braid 9J wheels, rubber, pads, brake lines & fluid, DTUK stage 2 tune, exhaust, mirror riser, strut brace, intake filter etc etc.

Starting to get a bit excited now. Ive driven a friends one and it was the perfect antidote to low traction surfaces, winter driving etc. Amazing grip! Two others I drive with use theirs as track cars and quite frequently they are approached after a session by drivers of more powerful cars who are impressed with the ability the car has to keep up with them lap upon lap...

Grant. I dont know much about the GR Corolla only what I read, but I think you will be very happy. It looks like a great package and their will be a whole industry of hop up parts available for it in no time. Maybe like me you will use it at the track from time to time so you can run uninsured and without the GT3 consumerable costs. Better yet if you get in early I think you will find they hold their value very well and with warranty etc will be a very low cost medium term hold...

But isn't the Corolla much heavier than the Yaris? Over 200 or even 250 kg? Smiley

Yes. It is 200kg more. But it has 300PS vs the 272PS our GR Yaris have in NZ. It is easy to tune the Yaris to 320-340 bhp now they have cracked the ECU so I suspect the same for GR Corolla. With 340 bhp the 1480kg GR Corolla should still be a winner with AWD. Better performing than Focus RS as lighter with a better drivetrain...

Also the GR Yaris was never exported to USA so there are few other options.
