The planks can still be rigidly mounted even when it's a split. The issue at hand isn't whether the planks are 1 piece or not, it's some teams running a bendy rear sections where it will bend upwards and reduces wear.

Astute eye you possess that from a flat 2-D image you deduce the mounting points are within the specifications under loading.

How convenient for the Dutch, a race day party and fully stocked grocery stores.

I don't need to have superman eyes, it is already widely reported, from teams and others, about what was discussed in the FIA meeting. You living under a rock by any chance?

    https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/disappearing-skid-blocks-flexi-floor-tricks/10335974/

And here is a second 'trick' for the floor. Disappearing skid block.

Horner is sticking to his narrative that his team didn't 'cheat'. Yet.

Ferrari however has confirmed they will need some, hmm, 'modification' to be able to comply.

Ferrari has admitted, however, that the clarification regarding new tests on the floor will require his squad to make some modifications.

“There will be some changes which will be required because now a new clarification has been issued with new tests which is required on new requirements, new specification,” he said.

“It will take some time to do it, so at least I think it's good to relax it to Belgium because [porpoising] not being a subject, there is no need to rush.”

At this point, it's a pretty clear case of some teams having illegal floors and needed 'modifications'.

Me too and I was never an Alonso fan.

A good race, so nice racing, now if they can make the cars 3/4 the size, i think that would be perfect.

for once, first time ever, I agreed with Max.

Just put a concrete wall around all the circuits and the track limit problem will go away.

    Heck, just armco is enough.

Like from a foot outside the white line.

This is where the Americans got it right with ovals and drag strips, you don't see those races have track limit discussions. Everyone races within the white lines, as it should be.

Hamilton is the only driver who finished all eleven races this year.

Hopefully I didn't jinxed it smiley

what lewee really wants is the 41 sec.s of quick he didn't have at Austria, to run with the big boys. boy the season would be exciting then, even more than now just wondering which Ferrari will grenade and who Russell will punt next and what woe will checo suffer

    Re: [2022] Formula 1

    French GP prediction.

    Ferrari qualifies 1st and 2nd.

Max had a hiccup and comes in 3rd. Hamilton 4th.

It's a rain race. At the start the 2 Ferrari fuck off into the distance, Max had a poor start and forget he isn't fighting Hamilton this year, but he still turned into the Mercedes and crash him out anyways, taking himself out in the process.

The camera pans over and see Verstappen chasing Hamilton trying to beat him up on the side of the track.

Russell got on the inside of Perez and punt him out again, but damaged his own car in the process and retired. TV flipped to seeing Toto destroy another headset. A split screen showing Horner whipped out his phone texting someone right after.

Bottas did a Bottas again, plowing into turn 1 taking out 5 cars, both McLaren are out, the one race Ricciardo out qualifies Norris he got taking out in turn 1, they in turn plowed into both Alpines, all gone. Vettel was behind the chaos but didn't stop in time and plowed into Alonso. also out.

    Restart.

Ferrari 1,2, Haas 3,4, Williams started on the back but now they are running in the point, by default as there is only 10 cars left, behind the Alphas, Zhou in between and Stroll behind Zhou.

Yuki did a Tusnoda and takes out Gasly. 8 left.

Both Ferraris lapped everyone, cruising to a 1, 2 finish. RD keep handing out track limit violations like candy and all 8 got 5 seconds penalties on their next pit stop.

K-Mag was running behind Mick the whole time and Mick made a mistake entering the Mistral straight chicane, but he remembered what his dad do when in trouble so he turned into K-Mag, both car stranded. Camera flipped to Steiner immediately can caught him punching and breaking the monitor.

2 laps from the finish, Leclerc' engine self-destructed. Sainz leading. By a lap and a half over the field. Albon running 2nd, Zhou 3rd and Stroll 4th and Latifi 5th.  The last 4 cars are running together in a pack battling.

Sainz came up and lapped all of them with relatively ease, but just as he was going to lap Albon the Mercedes engine expires, spewing oil and whatever all over Sainz, Sainz slid off and crashed out.

3 cars left running for the GP. Last lap, Stroll pulled a great move on Zhou for the lead into turn 11, Zhou's line was compromised and Latifi took advantage and gained 2nd place.

Stroll is going to win the French GP, camera again panned to Stroll senior, he was excited to see his son wins a race, just as the camera switched over, Stroll has a blow out right after the final corner, turn 15, the car was still going straight down the pit straight, but Latifi beat the car to the line and wins his 1st ever GP, Zhou comes in 2nd for his best ever finish. Stroll's car grind to.a stop inches from the finishing line.

THAT, would be an exciting French GP, and F1 in a nutshell, or in one single race.

    Re: [2022] Formula 1

There was a race like that in Monaco one year.  Nice story!!  I would have had Mick win one. Still recall the time his dad did soooo many pit stops in France and won it that way.

    Re: [2022] Formula 1

    Not quite Mike.

Completely forgot my original ending until now.

Williams was set to announced Piastri replacing Latifi starting in Spa.

So that was Latifi's last race.

We ended up with 20 disappointed drivers and 10 disappointed teams. and a billion or so disappointed viewers.

People have too much free time on their hands to do completely pointless charts....

    Re: [2022] Formula 1

Personally, at this moment in time, the greatest F1 driver is Hamilton. He has the best career record on anything, over taking Schumacher, who is second.

Next up? Senna, and Alonso. The older Alonso gets, the better he is in observing the surrounding and gaining an advantage. He was so smart in Austria to drive with a loose wheel and come back and do a change without incurring a penalty. He is also the one that keep driving over his side of the grid to clean it up during practice, and also laying down rubbing near his grid box during practice start. Not to mention asking first then proceed to abuse the 1st lap 1st corner rule. Max, Leclerc, Sainz, Norris, Russell would do really well learning from him.

Prost could have ranked higher, but he is the one that started the dirty trick of crashing out your competitor on purpose in order to win thing, that's classless. Senna copied it, Schumacher copied it, Max copied it. That's a bad example and bad trend, youngsters shouldn't be looking up to that. It's too bad that one desperate move tarnished his good career. It's what people remembered him for. Forever.

Everyone else? Drop all their names into a hat and take you pick for ranking. Just about any one of them lucked out with a great car for their winning year.

There is simply no comparison to compare modern era drivers to older era drivers, team structures are different, points structures are different, almost like those are completely different series, well they are.

So you are confirming that the study you liked before with imaginary numbers was completely irrelevant, right? Smiley

This stats are from real races just updated with current point system to trying to make it a fair comparison.

    Re: [2022] Formula 1

Seems too fantasy footballish to be meaningful since the drivers span multiple decades with varying rules, regulations, and technology.

It's so cute that you can't even see the problem with a chart with drivers stats that are non car performance equated nor era equated Smiley ... let me guess, you believe in horoscopes charts too Smiley

Some of the stats they throw out at times are hilarious “the most races started on medium tires after it rained on the morning before practice while there was a full moon” or some other obscure set of circumstances.
