The truth is that I can't wait for you to eat your words around Hamilton's so called decline, the guy has proved himself over and over again with different team drivers. Once Merc sought out their issues with the car, you'll definitely see the Real Deal Hamilton

I believe its a 50/50 balance, look at Bottas and Button when they were his team mates

    Re: [2022] Formula 1

Look at Latifi vs Albon. the gap is huge and Albon doesn't seem to be as good as his mates Leclerc / Russell / 33 / Norris.

    Re: [2022] Formula 1

FIA should just stand firm on car regulations this year on porpoising, they could try something for next year if all teams says yes. Mercedes designed a downforce monster wit hates zero sidepod but forgot about the porpoising thing, they will just have to install bump stops on their suspension travel to stop it from hitting the ground. Or even raise the ride height. Their fault.

Same with the budget cap. Stand firm, giving out a clear penalty for breaking that, Say 10 points for each driver for each million over or say drop the best point finish for each driver for each million over. If a team can't make it to the end, that's their fault for not budgeting correctly. If Red Bull think they can't make it to the end, they could always abandon their planned development to save money, or have their drivers fly coach instead of private jet to races. Closing down their hospitality suite to save money is another avenue also.

FIA TAKES STEPS TO REDUCE PORPOISING IN THE INTERESTS OF SAFETY

    16.06.22

Following the eighth round of this year’s FIA Formula One World Championship, during which the phenomenon of aerodynamic oscillations (“porpoising”) of the new generation of Formula 1 cars, and the effect of this during and after the race on the physical condition of the drivers was once again visible, the FIA, as the governing body of the sport, has decided that, in the interests of the safety, it is necessary to intervene to require that the teams make the necessary adjustments to reduce or to eliminate this phenomenon.

    FIA flag

A Technical Directive has been issued to give guidance to the teams about the measures the FIA intends to take to tackle the problem. These include:

    1. Closer scrutiny of the planks and skids, both in terms of their design and the observed wear
    2. The definition of a metric, based on the car’s vertical acceleration, that will give a quantitative limit for acceptable level of vertical oscillations. The exact mathematical formula for this metric is still being analysed by the FIA, and the Formula 1 teams have been invited to contribute to this process.

In addition to these short-term measures, the FIA will convene a technical meeting with the Teams in order to define measures that will reduce the propensity of cars to exhibit such phenomena in the medium term.

The FIA has decided to intervene following consultation with its doctors in the interests of safety of the drivers.

In a sport where the competitors are routinely driving at speeds in excess of 300km/h, it is considered that all of a driver’s concentration needs to be focused on that task and that excessive fatigue or pain experienced by a driver could have significant consequences should it result in a loss of concentration.

In addition, the FIA has concerns in relation to the immediate physical impact on the health of the drivers, a number of whom have reported back pain following recent events.

    FIA have spoken.

They will look into the porpoising issues, Checking planks and skids under the car for wear and also vertical Gs received by drivers.

Looks like Mercedes will definitely need to raise their ride height.

    Re: [2022] Formula 1

    So, RIP Ferrari?

The car still has alot of porpoising so they are forced to reduce it which will make the car slower.

Easy win for Red Bull this year.

    Boring races coming up.
