Re: 997 (with Options) OR 997S stock?

    WRONG Rossi!!

    reade the following

    Price for Carrera 108,000 euro
Price for Carrera S 120,000 euro

    difference. 12,000 Euro

    19" Carrera S 2.530 Euro
    BiXenon 1,780 Euro
    PASM 2.560 Euro
    Sports Steering~ 350 Euro

    sum 7.220 Euro

    For the same things!!

Now the difference between 2 models is almost the same in Greece and abroad 12.000 Euros

But the extras that you can put in Greece are almost the double price than abroad!!!! This is OFS (official Porsche stealing)!!!

more over with the S you get

aluminium look trims inside where the base has darker.

you also get silver guages that will cost you as an option for the base 980,00 Euro!! in various colors

you also get 4 exchaust pipes and many many more as you mentioned along with brakes etc...

Re: 997 (with Options) OR 997S stock?

Well Dilinger, I wasn't wrong, these are the exact prices for Germany. I can't speak for Greece, but obviously Greek customers have a clear disadvantage there.

And I know you will also get some design gimmicks with the 997S, but they are negligible to me.

Re: 997 (with Options) OR 997S stock?

It's a visor designed specifically for the 997 with the Porsche logo on it. According to the parts rep at my dealership, Porsche hasn't begun to manufacture these visors yet and he didn't want to sell my a visor for the 996 as it might not fit correctly. So I bought a cheapie from the local auto parts place in the interim.

Everyone I have spoken with raves about the sport shifter. If I have the shifter and the center carbon fiber console done at the same time, it saves money on labor. It's really my only gripe with the interior, the plastic center console, which the carbon console will resolve nicely and really set off the black leather and the brushed aluminum accents. MA

i m also looking for carbon interior. gear know and handbrake first

Re: 997 (with Options) OR 997S stock?

I'm of a mind to have my plastic console replaced with a leather one (shoulda checked that option when I ordered the car!!). Has anybody done this "retrofit", and know what it cost?

Re: 997 (with Options) OR 997S stock?

    MY PERSONAL OPINION:

69's of course its a matter of taste and preference but if i was changing the center console, i would switch to different color.

    Because:

1- changing plastic to leather will not show the difference.
2-Another material will differentiate your interior more, and also give you a breed of change.

My preference is maybe carbon.Almost same price with leather BUT

Carbon is harder more endurable whereas leather can make stinks.

Furthermore, you can choose to have a center console in outside color (mathing).
Pretty cool, only concern is that it might make the interior of your car look a little "cold",if you get my point.

I totally exclude wooden options, so we are only left with aluminium look.

I like sometimes its appearance BUT alu-look is soft and makes scratches quite easy.
The bad thing is that it is too flushy thus making the interior a little irritating as time goes by.
And the particular alu-LOOK !! finish looks a little cheap to me.

    My best choice would be.
On big surfaces like center console i would go for Carbon
On smaller like air vents dash trims i might make a combo with alu-look to break monotony and give some light!

MEA, when you fit more than one retrofit options together, you usually dont save money on installation!!!
Just the dealer saves time on installation!

In practice its "cheaper" for him but most of them charge instalation by guide and not by reality, so you better discuss this before installation to have a better price.
If you seem serious enough the dealer will cut installations costs,to gain more retrofit money at the same time!

    I hope i helped!

Re: 997 (with Options) OR 997S stock?

Well, to be honest (no disrespect intended to the originator of this thread) I dislike carbon fiber interior details with just about every fiber of my being. Seen too many cobbled together kid-owned rice-burners slathered in fake plastic carbon-fiber-look crap I suppose. Furthermore, with the Terracotta interior, I think a dark-colored deviating console color would look like poop. The prospect of the leather console getting worn or scratched doesn't worry me, I'm like a bomb disarming specialist inside a car. After all, when you collect old cars, you learn to get in, drive, and get out, without leaving a fingerprint or scuff or scratch. Lastly, the leather console, I believe, is EXTREMELY easy to spot compared to standard plastic. I really don't feel the need for any more contrast, there's already a ton of aluminum trim in the interior. Thanks for the suggestions though!

Re: 997 (with Options) OR 997S stock?

you got terracota???? I rest my case 69" you got the best in color

I absolutely agree with you. I can't understand also what the hype is all about with the so called "carbon interior" of the F430...
