    C200 failure code on my new cab

    Hello, everybody,
    After only 250 km I got WHile driving this message on the central display:"tempeature failure", the needle, hand, of the watertemp-display fell to 40 degree's = down and the red temperature warninglight went flickering.
    I called the dealer and they asked me to bring the car.
    They got a C200 failure on their computer= connection failure between airco and DME...
    They reset everything and I drove 100km without the problem and then, there it was again... I switched off the engine and after restarting everything was normal again...

    Anyone experience with this problem?
    The dealer can't come up with answerw yet

    No, that's too bad. Seems like you really have to keep your fingers crossed to make sure you don't have problems with these things when they are new. Good luck finding it.

    Yikes. Are they sure it is ok to keep driving it with this error message?

    wow, hopefully its just an electronic thing... maybe just a messy computer! good luck, i know what thats like to an extent.

    Sorry to hear your problem. You don't expet such problem with a brand new $100K car. Porsche is probably making these cars as fast as they can. Not sure if it's safe to drive the car with this type error. Just have them come pick up the car and have them keep it until it is fixed as difficult as it may be for you personally. Then write a letter to Porsche while you are at it and document the problem. Good luck.

    All the cooling fans are working and oil temp stays ok too.
    After switching it off and on again you can read out the display again.The dealership is working on it.
    Car stays in my garage for the moment...

    This warning does not show that you have a low temp BUT instead that the temperature gauge is not functioning

    I read here about numerous probs with the 997, but am I really the first one to have the above mentionned problem

    5 weeks later and still having the same problem ? Are you driving the car ? What has the dealer said ?

    The dealer says they are gone replace the sensor of the watertemperature.BUt they think, just like i do, that that won't solve the problem.
    The car now has 2500km and the problem occured +/- 8 times.
    When you turn the engine off and restart the everything is normal again.
    In 2 weeks i have to go to the dealer for the 3000km checkup and hope they will resolve the problem.
    I thaugt someone here could help me out but, obviously it's not a current problem....

    I have to bring in my car at the dealer's in 2 weeks.
    They need it for 48 hours in order to find solutions for above problem and the "magical gremlins in the electronic division"of the car. I keep you informed concerning the results.

    The first thing they are going to do is give me 2 new keys in order to exclude there is something wrong with them...
