    It's option X51 (powerkit), but I'm pretty confident that standard hp will be increased with later model years like has been done before. E.g., first standard 996 had 300hp. The powerkit option added 20hp. A few model years later standard 996 already got 320hp. The new powerkit option added 25hp.

    381 HP for the 997 Carrera S Powerkit option.
    The facelift is rumoured at 375 HP.
    And before someone asks about WHEN the facelift is expected, I don't have a clue. But I suppose sometimes around summer 2007 as a MY 2008.

    this time..with the 997..i don't expect a big facelift like on the 996..i think will be only a minor lifting..i don't think they will change again the front lights' shape..maybe the interior parts of the lights but not the shape..
    i hope at least.....

    I just orderd a 997 which will be built in July, can any of these options be orderd for my car? They are not shown on the USA web site.

    I spoke to my dealer today and he said this (keyless entry)was not available on the 997 only the pepper. Do you know the code?

    I haven't seen any keyless entry option on the MY2006.... specifics

    My sales guys told me that my car is showing on his computer that is will be built "before the end of June" and it is an 06. Anyone know more? Also, how long to ship once built?

    I doubt that. I take delivery of my car on July 6th right at the factory in Zuffenhausen and that's a MY05 car.

    My dealer told me that X51 for the 997S can only be configured from factory, it seems that it cannot be retrofitted at a later stage. Can someone please confirm?

    Anyone in the U.S. had any luck ordering X51 on an 06 Build 997S? I had a July build date and had to postpone and move down the list because dealer was not showing option in computer ordering sysytem.

    Just received the U.S. MY 2006 S model order guide from my dealer. The X51 definately available here in the U.S.A. but am very disappointed to say the price is $16,900.

    The dollar to Euro conversion but that should put it at about 13K U.S.

    I was considering the conversion when I asked the question. Now that I think about it more PCNA is probably making this option ridiculously expensive so people who want more power don't buy the car. Instead they wait for the turbo or GT3 which are even more profitable.

    I know PCNA is offering the club sport car at a great discount, but they are only offering 48. Plus not sure I can live with baby blue ...

    Were you considering ordering the X51? I was but that puts the car at 105K with my other options. Means I have to buy it and love it if I keep the car around 88-90K I can lease it and always get out of it later if I desire. PCNA seems a little greedy to me on this one so I am unsure what to do at this point.

    I wouldn't spec any 997S at over $100k without first carefully considering the GT3 or TT (996 or 997)...

    Agreed Grant, it is just too much money to have in a 997S. I wasn't satified with my 02 996 as far as power was concerned, loved the car otherwise. Not sure if the S with 35 more HP than my 996 is going to feel that much stronger. From what I have been reading I have my doubts.

    I owned an 02 996C2 also. I had a few complaints, but lack of power wasn't among them. If your main reason for upgrading to a 997S is the power increase, then I would reconsider a bit. 35hp increase is only 11% and the car weighs more and the wheel/brake rotor/tire combos weigh more, so I think the perceived power increase will be minimal. If you want alot more straight line speed, I think a Turbo may be more to your liking. The torque from a TT is pretty overwhelmingly stronger than any n/a 911. For the price of a 997S, you could buy a slightly used 996TT with X50 or 997TS. Have you ever driven one? Have you driven the 997S yet?

    If you've got to have a 997 for the looks (I would't blame you), then I'd consider waiting for a 997TT or 997GT3, but that's alot more $$$. Tough decision...
