I saw a C2 yesterday that actually looked this colour, ie as in the pics not lapis. At first I thought it was black but when I got closer I realised it was VERY dark blue. As I haven't seen midnight or basalt in the flesh, there are 4 possibilities:
a) basalt black has a hint of blue
b) midnight blue is nearly black
c) special order colour - BMW's carbon black would be the closest I have seen.
d) i am going colour blind

Maybe you saw midnight blue and not lapis. Laapis is a lot lighter. Take a look at that one. You can see the real color of lapis on the front bumper (reflection)

I took this pic at the NY Auto show couple of weeks ago. Most of the shots I took came out really good but unfortunately this one stunk.Obviously it's way too dark. I'm not positive if it's Lapis or not but liked the matching rims. The car looked hot in person.

If nothing else, I think all of the pics prove the point that Lapis is difficult to photograph. I think this is part of the appeal of the color - it looks different depending on the lighting. Hope each of you enjoy the color you have chosen for yours.

You're welcome. It's a really nice color. It was a very popular color on the 996 but for some reasons, it's not seen much on the 997.
