    997 turbo spyshots

I think these are new, from the Onlyporsche website:

    http://www.onlyporsche.net/News/Porsche-997/Could-this-be-the-next-generation-Porsche-Turbo-

    Re: 997 turbo spyshots

Thanks for the link . Here are the pictures.

    Re: 997 turbo spyshots

    I can't wait any longer!!!!

    Re: 997 turbo spyshots

    looks almost like a gt2...

    Re: 997 turbo spyshots

..and maybe one of you insight guys (RC??) can confirm that this will be the look of the new car, ie still with round headlamps and long air intake on the side?? thanks!

    Re: 997 turbo spyshots

I think the round headlamps are definite. The long intakes look camoed.

    Re: 997 turbo spyshots

    looks great, I can't wait!

    Re: 997 turbo spyshots

RC has already confirmed that the side intakes will not look like that on the final product.

    Re: 997 turbo spyshots

It must be bloody fast and capable. I can't wait for a comparison test between Turbo anf F430...

    Re: 997 turbo spyshots

    what an ass

    I didn't confirm anything.
The side air intake may look like this one in the picture but I doubt it. The car without camouflage I saw definetely had a different side air inlet and another camouflaged car had the real air inlet covered with black plastic/metal/tape/whatever to make it look different.

Just imagine a 997 Carrera S with a slightly wider rear, a bit similar to the 959. The front will be an adaptation of the current 996 Turbo front, the rear wing will be slightly bigger but apparently the same system like on the 996 Turbo.

Rumours indicate that Porsche concentrated a lot on keeping the weight at 996 Turbo level, raising power of the engine (some mules are rumoured to drive around with 550-600 HP) and adapting the suspension setup near to perfection.
I don't expect any spectacular look but a spectacular and very impressive performance increase. Surprise, surprise...

    Re: 997 turbo spyshots

I'll get a heart attack if they go beyond 490 hp.....

Does that mean the rear wing will be retractable?

RC, is the rumour (I use the word advisedly) still for a MY2007 launch?

    Re: 997 turbo spyshots

cant wait to see how it does against the C6 Z06 and the F430!

    Re: 997 turbo spyshots

Rear wing comparable to the 996tt's? That is good news! I loved that wing, so refined. And keeping the weight down, and visible changes small, but the performance perfect... trhat is even better news!

Yes. Some people even expect the official announcement for end of 2005 with first deliveries around late spring 2006. But again...these are only rumours.
