    997 - Red Stitching Pictures

Looks great. Just ordered this stuff on a Boxster S (nope, I'm keeping my 997 Carrera S ).

Re: 997 - Red Stitching Pictures

Looks nice. That's the color combo I have in my Stradale.
What color is the exterior ?
Does anyone know if the deviated stitch is available yet in the US ?
When the 997 Turbo cab. comes out I'd love to get silver stitching on black leather with an Artic exterior.

Re: 997 - Red Stitching Pictures

red ones on the dashboard and seats
white ones on the gearshift and the brake...
    seems unfinished !

Re: 997 - Red Stitching Pictures

Looks awsome. Is that available in the US?

Re: 997 - Red Stitching Pictures

    Thanks RC,
    Nice pics.
I thought I wouldn't like it but I do actually. Nice contrast.
I'd still stick to the normal light grey stitching though.
    Personal preferences.
Congrats on your Boxster S BTW.

Typical Porsche! Unlike Ferrari where there's 1 option for deviated stitching, you needed to order up to 4 options on the 996 so that all stitching came "deviated." Looks like the same is true for the 997.

Same with me, don't like it, neither in F- nor in P-cars.

You have to see it LIVE to be able to get an opinion about it. I saw it before on pictures and thought the same, especially since I saw a REALLY baseball glove looking stitching on an Audi TT Cab recently (a friend's wife got a used one) and I didn't like it at all because it looked very very baseball glove stitching like.

The pictures actually show the red a bit TOO bright and the stitching itself has the same size like the original non-coloured stitching. It may look a bit overdone in the pictures but I assure you that it looks great in reality.
In my opinion this is a better option than the bi-coloured leather but to each his own I guess.

Re: 997 - Red Stitching Pictures

why leave out gearstick and handbrake?

Remember, red is the most difficult color to capture and display properly. Even if it was captured properly, most monitors also have alot of difficulty displaying it.

So whether its a 997 in red or an inside view of a 997 with red deviated stitching, it is best to see them in person to get the true perspective of the color red.

Re: 997 - Red Stitching Pictures

Too pimped out for my tastes, but to each his own.

Re: 997 - Red Stitching Pictures

    Love it!
I hope you didn't left out the guards red seatbelt?
Handbrake lever & shifter white = no go!

Re: 997 - Red Stitching Pictures

Nice ...but where is the stitching on handbrake and gear lever?

Re: 997 - Red Stitching Pictures

us this an S or base? Seems like an S to me with black dials!

Re: 997 - Red Stitching Pictures

I like it! I've to get that stitching for a long time. Hopefully, I'll get it when I order my 997S.

    Congrats on the combo,
    Ray

P.S. did ya get red seat belts???

Re: 997 - Red Stitching Pictures

i was wondering about colored seat belts.

    price and what color?
my car is Arctic silver with black interior! how original!

I am between red seat belts and silver seat belts

Re: 997 - Red Stitching Pictures

    imagine a yellow 997 with yellow stiching...sick

Yep, Carrera S with black dials. I tried to get the black dials for the Boxster S too but right now it seems to be impossible. The suggested red dials would have been a bit too much red for my taste (and my wife wouldn't like it either) but I really think that a black car with red stitching, red seatbelts and red brake calipers looks good and not too flashy. Speaking of too pimped out: did somebody see a Mercedes SL with a a two colour tone black-flashy red interior? This would be a bit too much for my taste.
Red stitching on the handbrake lever? I think I ordered that too but I check with my dealer tomorrow. I want to make sure that ALL stitching is red, otherwise it really wouldn't look perfect.
BTW: first choice has been yellow stitching with black leather, yellow seatbelts and PCCB (yellow brake calipers). Unfortunately my wife hates yellow calipers and she couldn't care less about brake feel/performance.

Re: 997 - Red Stitching Pictures

guess better see in the flesh (ahaha roles reversed with Senor Stradale on his dislike of my fave Cocoa leather hahaha)...at least in these pics red dev stitch looks cartoon-ish, not red but neon-pink.

Why is it not possible to get an S model with black dials RC?
    Any particular reason?
Is that also true for the 997?
    Thanks.

This is strange indeed. You can get red or yellow dials but no black dials (yet). No problem to order black dials on a 997 Carrera S. I just don't like the silver/white dials too much, it doesn't look too good on a black car in my opinion.
And red is too much too, red numbers on a black background would have been nicer.

you can order "all stitching in guards red" and thats it
or you specify where do you want the stitching and what color.

But does that include the gearshift and brake?

Re: 997 - Red Stitching Pictures

on my previous 996 turbo x50 they included every thing even the stitching in the middle of the leather roof
i'm not 100% sure about the 997 but i think the same order will do

Re: 997 - Red Stitching Pictures

    Can anybody clarify this please:

When is the gear knob top (which shows the gear position layout) black and when is it silver?

Is it Carrera S=silver and base Carrera=black?
I originally thought that it was white aluminium dials have a silver knob and black dials have a black knob but this is obviously wrong because, in the photos above, there are black dials with a silver gear knob.

Thanks and apologies if this has been answered before!

All standard 997 I have seen/driven so far had a silver knob, just the same as in the 997S.
