I know that...so I coated them with a product called Wichinox. It's used for the passivation of marine stainless steel, so its' very durable. I've used it on previous stainless steel polishings and helps keep the luster for several months, before needing to repolish.

Nice, and nice plates!
By the way, who does the checkerboard type things over garage concrete slab? I was thinking of doing this to my garage, debating of doing it myself though to save money.
Thanks,
Kauai

Where do you get those great wall panels? I can never find them, not even on that website.

Installation was quite easy. The old ones slide off after loosening a bolt. The new ones slide on and are tightened in place with one bolt. Aligning the tips is the only time consumer. As you can see in the first shot, the chrome tips are very shiny. Once in place, this difference is less noticeable. The new tips are a bit pricey at US$384 for the pair.

Did you get them from Suncoast Porsche? I saw them on their website for that price. Are they official Porsche parts? I ask this since Suncoast shows the part number as 997stips, not the official 997 111 981 20 (left) & 997 111 982 20 (right).
When my cab arrives I will try polishing first. If I am not satisfied with the results I may buy the chrome tips.
