    Cayman marketed above base 911?

    The new issue of Car & Driver reported that the upcoming Cayman will slot between the base 911 and the 911S -- Did they get it wrong? I though it was going to be between the Boxster S and the base 911. Anyone know the real deal?

    i just read that too. car and driver also stated that the price for the cayman s would be $75000.

    Was this a magazine that you guys recieved in the mail? recently? cause the one on the newstands doesn't have anything about the cayman.
    But the fact that Car and driver, though not reliable said something that different is wierd. I mean they must have written that after the announcement. Is it possible that they heard a rumor about another cayman model/version?

    The article is on page 38 of the May 2005 edition. It is a small article in the "Dirt Road" section. There is also a small picture of the Cayman.

    Maybe C&D was talking in terms of performance and Porsche was talking in terms of market position and price?
