    No Sound when turning on Alarm

    Hi All - i find it annoying that when you turn on the alarm using the keys there's no sound confirmation - i always have to look back at the car (which is not that bad considering it's a beauty) to ensure that the lights are blinking twice, indicating that the car is locked & alarmed. Does anybody else have this or is it me??

    I wouldn't mind a little "beep-beep". I either have to look at the lights or hear the locking of the doors. I find that there are times when I didn't notice either happening and had to try to open the car to confirm it was locked. This is not unique to Porsches, when locking my wifes Mercedes it does the same thing.

    and to further the annoyance, there is only one button for lock/unlock. if there were 2 separate buttons, you could at least hit the lock a couple of times just to make sure.

    leave a compartment open inside the car such as the center console lid.

    this will generate a beep when the car alarm is armed.

    Center console lid is not armed anymore and does not lock....

    IMHO the set up is perfect without the sound. I don't want to draw anymore attention to myself on the street than the car is already giving me.

    It's the same with my frigidaire : no sound when closing the door !
    So I never know if the light inthere is really off when I close the door... Boring because I've to open and close it again several times to verify...

    I know for a fact the light in the frig' goes out. Don't ask. Let's just say I've had my a@& kicked a few times in my life.

    Reading a post about "starting from standstill with max power", I discovered that there was a "sound of a small micro switch clicking when the clutch is depressed past about the 3/4 mark"
    Well, fellow posters, I tought it was MAYBE the same in my frig'.
    And you know what ?
    It IS the same.
    So the consequence of this discovery is -thanks God- that I spend no more time opening and closing the door of the frig' to verify the light goes really out or not !
    I just scotch my ear next to the door to hear the little reassuring sound of the little switch.
    I spare with pleasure this little trick with you all, hoping it will be usefull

    Evetytime I will close the frig', I'll think to you
