Its shaping up to be rather beautiful at the back and hopefully sufficiently different from the boxster.

What would have made more sense? A Cayman S based on the 911. A lightweight 911 without the rear seats but maybe the possibility to load the rear through a rear window system which can be opened. The 911 "Cayman" would have a better reputation, it would sell easier at the suggested price tag and people would finally get a "cheaper" 911 "light" at 300 HP maybe only. The Cayman S doesn't make sense to me, sorry.

The base Cayman should be priced around $42k with the S coming in around $55K, but I'm sure that won't be the case.

Official pictures of the Cayman will be available in July 2005, with a presentation of the car at the Francfort Motor Show in September. The car will be available shortly thereafter (Oct/Nov in Europe).
