The MC20 has a very nice design. One of the most attractive of its type.
But to own such a car at this inflated price you must have the luxury of a multi-car garage and to be a money-no-object person, besides trusting the Maserati brand.
IMO, for someone that doesn't attach value to the "bijou factor" of this type of supercar the real life choice is the Porsche Turbo (not even the Turbo S) with its applied performance and practicality at a reasonable price.

Starting price in EUR 244.000.
The exterior carbon package is EUR 38.000 extra. An essential IMO because without it the large areas of bare black plastic devalue the perceived quality of the car.
I don't know the reason for this pricing discrepancy 
Perhaps the brand is generally unknown in the USA and Stellantis want to apply penetration pricing to entice customers.

the 6 cylinder sounds very muted and feels a bit choked - even when you put it in "race mode" where the digital display changes and the exhausts opens a bit - it's feels not as free revving as a 488 - the power is there and a bit of a "sidestepping" is factored-in before the ESP cuts it back but it does not feel as fast as in a 675LT or even a 488. A funky gimmick is that the back-mirror is basically a camera and it displays constantly what the camera sees - there is no back-visibility - a bit weird first but then quite good. I think the Chassis set up is very nice and the front visibility better to my taste than in a Huracan - but it lacks a bit of a wow factor except for the looks.
Also the ABS kicks in very very quick - something I have never felt in similar products.

CGX car nut:Hard pass when one of the reviews mentioned a price over USD 300,000 with options. There are too other great cars in the market place from automakers that aren’t in continual reinvention mode.
Just curios if there are "too many other great cars" or if you were thinking of "two other great cars" in particular ?

Two are for sale on our market. Cars are new . One is CHF 265k and the other one, full carbon option, is 295k

Beautiful car but totally overpriced in my opinion.
I would rather get a new R8 V10 for much less money but of course in this category, money may not be that important.

Also the notion of 1500kg being impressive for a carbon-tubbed V6 seems very generous. A steel/alu/alloy RS is less than that, not to mention McLarens. The interior doesn't look like it has a lot of heavy luxury stuff. I would have hoped for a low weight to be a real feature - like in a 4C.

For that money the six cylinder would need to be flat not V.
I'm sure we'll all be drooling over a rear engined steel structured six-cylinder 911 GT3 RS with a similar price tag, it's in the eye of the beholder I guess...

I agree. Tried to spec one to my taste and the option pricing was excessive.
I realized 296gtb is just a much better deal for a V6 sports car.
I look forward to the Stradale version or other track specials down the road. Perhaps the carbon options will be standard on those.
