Re: What's wrong with this car?

    S, black-black, nav, and that's all folks !
Even with that poor choice, I'm dead broke : I'll loose my wife and children's because of madness, my boss will be envious and fire me, and worse i'll eat french fries and cheeseburgers till the end of my life !
And all that for an unreliable car !

Re: What's wrong with this car?

hahah!! you did not get sport chrono?
    Or anything else?

Why you did not go for the base with more options?

Re: What's wrong with this car?

Well, because my [censored] is too tiny and I am too snob, I suppose
who does allways understand why he does what he does ?
I tried the sport chrono and didn't like it so much
I tried the -20mm chassis and idem
    And the Bose, idem
    And so far
And indeed, I hate this options politic that try to exploit the pathological narcissism of us, poor car-addicts
    SDP

Re: What's wrong with this car?

more seriously, there is a sensible difference between the S and the non S. I tried both of them, the "S" two times, with and without -20 mm, and a few hours. The "S" seems more funny, and I think it's not ONLY because of the badge at the back (...) More power, and this exhaust noise over 5000 rev : delicious... And I like the standard 19 rims, etc...

Re: What's wrong with this car?

The car is a base 997, tiptronic with phone. Standard NZ spec includes Sunroof, multi fn wheel, elec heated seats, full leather, bixenon, cd stacker, parkassist, rear wiper

Holminator: We don't get to see those stickers that are a requirement in the US. The car came from the factory with the S badge, and the dealer will leave or remove this, purchaser to decide. And what are those bumperettes for anyway

mcdelaug: This is a new car..mistake at factory

cantwait2getmine: They've sold 3 "non-presold" 997s since getting this one, all tips... is the badge putting people off? I suspect they'll sell the arctic silver tip with 19in wheels before this one. Bad enough patients see me in a Porsche.... I don't think most people know the difference between the 997 and the S, they're both expensive!!

pwz728: Can you believe $NZ210,000 or $US147,000 at todays exchange rate!! Is there anywhere that these cars are more expensive? (except Hong Kong and Singapore)

Re: What's wrong with this car?

Dr. Phil would probably remind you that Denmark's automobile taxation would make it more expensive there as well.

Re: What's wrong with this car?

interesting info So what did happened with the car?

Justr take out the S and you have a siny carrera there

In the US, if you smack into something at less than 5 mph (US requirement is 2.5 mph) those bumperettes are suppose to protect the car from any damage. In the old days, there was a more noticeable difference between US 911s and ROW 911s. Now is it just down to the bumperettes in the back but the front must also meet this requirement. I wonder if the ROW 911s has the same front bumper as the US.

Re: What's wrong with this car?

    exactly the same

Re: What's wrong with this car?

I know the outside looks the same, but I wonder underneath if it is the same.

Re: What's wrong with this car?

must be otherwise they should give different weight figures.
by the way in the US the standard carrera is 320 hp and not 325? and the S 350 instead of 355?

Re: What's wrong with this car?

Lucky you don't have bunperettes at the front!! Reminds me of those 70's Volvos with their BIG bumpers

Yeah, but they were great. I have vivid memories of transporting a bike on the roof of a 240. To get up was like climbing a ladder - one step onto the front bumper, a second onto the sidewall, and a third onto the roof.
And those front bumpers made great seats

Speculation, but I think it's because most Americans don't know how to parallel park.

The 997 is 325 HP and the 997 S is 355 HP in the USA.

Re: What's wrong with this car?

    this is funny....

Re: What's wrong with this car?

i think it's an F430 with an incorrect badge--

    i mean really!

    some people are so insecure...

Was at my dealer yesterday... This car is still there, in the showroom for 9 weeks. They have sold 5 non presold 997 base, I think all tips in that time. 997S are all presold. They have taken the S badge off, but left the "Carrera" badge untouched, ie off centre.... Didn't ask if they would discount it...

    Yup.
Base 911 starts at appr. 1.8 million Danish Kroner = 325,000 USD.
    Specced Carrera S = 420,000 USD.
    Carrera GT= 1,8 million USD

Yes, the land of Hans Christian Andersen is indeed a fairytale...yikes!

Re: What's wrong with this car?

That is beyond crazy. What the hell is going on over there in paradise???
