Airbag update - all is well now.
DETAILS
CODES #8024, 8053 IN SYSTEM
CHECK SYSTEM FOR FAULTS AND PRINT. REMOVE LEFT SEAT AND SEAT AIRBAG UNIT. INSPECT WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTORS. REPLACE WIRE HARNESS, REASSEMBLE, ERASE ALL FAULTS.
PART# 997-612-785-01 CABLE LOOM
Took a few days to order the part from the HOMELAND, but the car was fixed and ready the day the part arrived.
Dealer gave me a Cayanne S to drive, which was not my bag, but I did take it on a few nice mountain biking trips, tossing my bike in the back was quite easy. In addition the car as FAST for an SUV. The hotties don't look as often.... but I guess I have a girlfriend anyway....
Glad to have the 997S back - but all in all a harmless few days....
SONNEN Porsche has changed things around there. They are now very polite and deliver what they say they will. They call with updates to keep you in the loop. MUCH better than they used to, GARY WRIGHT did a GREAT job. Car came back spick and span clean, and all my settings and addresses for the NAV were all in tact and so was the radio.... GOOD WORK !
Back out enjoying the sun in the bay area !!!!
