    Unique Question

Any trap shooters successfully carry their fully assembled shotguns in the new 997 yet?

    Re: Unique Question

I don't shoot traps but I have had my shotgun in a slip on the back seat of my 997. As you would expect, unless you are a vertically challenged individual, I don't expect that you'll get an assembled shotgun in the "trunk". Mind you I don't find that a 997 is the ideal tool for crossing the fields I need to when out shooting - I'm waiting for the 4S for that!

    Re: Unique Question

Holminator!! you wont belive it ,this question i ve been wondering yesterday night!! and i was about to try it tomorrow to see how i can manage it

    Re: Unique Question

My shotgun fit nicely in the back trunk of my Boxster, but I have yet to go to the range with the 997.

    Re: Unique Question

stradale should know... he drives the LIE everyday -- sure he keeps one in his car

    Re: Unique Question

My over-and-under would def fit in the back seat and the trunk has more than enough room to hold my ammo...talk about a bank robbery getaway vehicle...

    Re: Unique Question

CLAYTON, sorry off topic ...I'm debating Slate/GT Silver/Arctic . Pls post those pics of your gorgeous Slate/Terracotta 997S again.....they were deleted from another site during a site upgrade awhile back. The pics of the car in traffic esp. good. Thanks.

I could have sworn there's a gun rack available in "Selections" catalog. The one in the catalog shows an M16, but a shotgun should fit too.

How did you know I drive the LIE (Long Island Expressway) everyday ?

Anyway,,,,,,, the answer to that question is ~ Proper firewarm's etiquette (if you're preference is a 12gauge shotgun) for a Porsche 996 or 997 is a Mossberg model 500. w/ Synthetic PISTOL GRIP stock.(Pistol grips make handling the firearm with one hand while driving with the other,,,much easier) For those less experienced (if you cannot drive with your knee while chambering a round) you can begin with the 935Magnum 22"barrel.... . It is an autoloader and therefore much easier to fire while shifting................ During this time of year most drivers will prefer the black matte finish, and switch to the Mossy Oak Break-Up camo color come fall.

Please remember to drive responsibly and ALWAYS check to make sure your the drivers and passenger windows are completely down before firing.

    HAPPY HUNTING !

    Re: Unique Question

I don't think I could trust myself with a firearm in my 997S while I am traversing the LIE, especially during rush hour

You had mentioned earlier that u live on LI. That dreaded expressway.... One of the reasons I moved to westchester!!! Would probably need an Uzi in the car if I was still driving that every day.

I only have to travel a few exits. For the rest of my commute I'm on the Hutch, Cross County and Saw Mill. Yup.......... Westchester.

    Re: Unique Question

Stradale, what exactly are you shooting at LIE?

    Re: Unique Question

pretty funny..... you pass my office everyday. And you're Maserati shopping in my neck of the woods too. Sounds like its time to make a move to save some milage on that inventory of yours.

For long road trips, what I like to do is give each passenger a Walther P5 Compact of their own and then collect them all back when the trip is over.

    What do I shoot ?

    Ducks..........................Everyone that ducks.

And Chickens....... Goose.................Whatever's around. That's why I'm getting a 997 S CABRIOLET. Shooting out a sunroof can be too tricky..

    EXACTLY. It's a HOOT !

I prefer the Walther P88 actually. Even the Walther PPK/S does a FINE job.

btw: I've had my P88 for 15 years. Never had a more accurate 9.

    Re: Unique Question

you must be joking you are driving and shooting at birds?
On a public road? At what speed?

In greece if you shoot a bird from a car(even standing still) is 5 years jail

    At what speed ????

Depends on the size of the bird, how high it is flying, the type of firearm, the car you're driving and your particular skill level.

Pigeons for instance are a 30 mph maximum. For Ducks and geese that fly in a straight line a lot of commuters can hit them at speeds over 100 mph. (w/ 12 gauge). It really depends on the type of Porsche you're driving. With a cabriolet you have a much greater range of motion down the sights.

    ps: Of course I'm joking.

    Re: Unique Question

God i was starting to read your last post and got crazy!!

If yo shot a pigeon here your pay 6,000 euro penalty you get to jail , and dont get even close to a firearm again in your life.

So everybody is kidding about this in this thread?
