    Steering Wheel Choices...

    What did everyone here choose for the steering wheel for the 987 S? Stay with Standard S wheel, choose the Sport, or multi function? Right now, I am with the standard on my order and have not moved into Planned Production, so, I can change, but, I like the triangular look as opposed to the circular, I think. Does anyone have pics or an opinion?

    Sorry for asking so many questions, but, I just keep thinking about different things with my order. I'm not sure how I am going to make another 3 months without the car!

    I was in the same position as you.

    I placed order last December- w the stnd wheel.

    When I saw the thicker rimmed sport steering wheel during the launch in april.

    I changed order immediately. definitely a bargain. and it feels a lot smaller than the 5mm difference suggests.

    go for it!

    Go for the "basic" sports steering wheel. Agree totally with Derder's comments. The standard and in particularly the multi-function wheel look like they've come straight out of the Cayenne. You can't have the multi-function wheel unless you have specified PCM.

    Standard steering wheel is better in terms of design and feel IMO. The smaller sporting wheel looks a bit over-designed and size isnt everything

    Go for whatever you like the most!

    Multi Function Steering Wheel here. I like the triangular form more than the round one, and the controlling of PCM + BOSE Soundsystem + Telephone is extra, very nice indeed

    Triangular looks like the 986 one. I love the roundness of the basic sports. But once moving who cares what it looks like!!!!

    The only advice I can give is that you should go for a round wheel. It is so much more practical and easier to handle...

    You can only say that with conviction if you've driven a 1970's Austin Allegro with it's "Quartic" wheel. But if your old enough to remember that then you are too old for a Boxster. And no, that's not me.

    How much thicker is the Sport Wheel than the Standard wheel?

    I've ordered mine w/ the sports steering round wheel. AND DON"T FORGET, you've got the thumb-rest on it too, very nice grip and not the mention, the round centre goes very well w/ the A/C air vents and the display panel!!!

    Get the sports steering wheel (round). The leather is much nicer than the standard, and the size and shape of the wheel rim are superb.
