Gnil:Amazing color on this car. Congrats. As someone said, it is a piece of art. What a special and unique car.
So, how does it drive ?
Slowly 
. Just sitting in it stationary puts a huge grin on your face. The gearbox is pre-syncromesh, so a "crash gearbox" which needs double clutching and makes a lot of grinding noises 
. I am contemplating putting a later synchromesh one in and keeping the old one aside. Also the front indicator lenses were clear in period and I think much better looking. The rear ones were red. I am sourcing both of these for the car - then she will look even more beautiful.
nberry:How many kilometers on this beauty? I’m not a classic car fan but on occasions I see similar Porsche’s on the road and I can’t take my eyes off it. The Mona Lisa of Porsche’s.
Very hard to know with these cars. The meter was set to zero during the restoration. A lot of love for 356's in your SoCal area, especially for Speedsters...watch this space

Not wanting to move this thread too far away from that beautiful radium green 356, however, to add to some of the Porsche history around that same timeframe, one is including a link about Porsche's alliance with Studebaker in the 1950s. It's amazing, though little covered period, for Porsche as well as Studebaker, which coincidently was the only wagon manufacturer in the States to successfully make the transition to automobiles.

The Studebaker National Museum also housed a couple of Porsches with suicide doors. One has not found any stories about those cars but will make a trip to the museum when in the area.
