997 TEST CAR PIC...SAW TODAY

This car had Porsche logo removed from the wheels, and no name on its rear.

2 antennas on the right rear and a ton of wires inside.
It was no wider than my 997....

Is this the C4S..red calipers and white dials with 4 tailpipes...Dealer plates also on it!

You doubt it? Then who was driving it with Calif plates...?

I was folllowing it out of Fashion Valley mall and then pulled along side and snapped a quick photo before he turned right.

Those rims are not offered right now thru the dealers....

perhaps just aftermarket rims and a debadged C2S...

Well what i was implying was that - If anybody would have the widebody carrera's wouldnt it still be over in
europe for testing?

The rims don't lie. It's a factory test / pre-production car.

(I used to work in Weissach, we used them for road tests

Those rims look somehow wrong in "flesh", they would not put them on production cars.

I want to know... could it be a 997 c4s?
I have placed a pre order on one but the dealer said he doesn' t know when exactly it would be available ( about end of the year) and if it would be a widebody or not

From it's looks and from what you describe it is definately as test mule.

It could be a C4 but then again it could just be a 997 S on continued testing.

Those rims were on all 997 mules until now. It doesn't look like the C4, maybe they are testing some changes that are supposedly already coming for the 997 next model year. And, yes, these tests are conducted all over the world.
