    Gremlings on the dashboard. Help!

    Lately i hear some rattles behind the dashboard, somewhere between the chrono wathch and the back of the glovebox, as i pass over bumps. I have just 3000 km on the clock and it's geting worse. My dealer could not found where the rattle comes from. Is anyone with the same problem? Please help.

    rattles rattles rattles. my car was suffering rattles from dashboard and crreking noises here and there. and thats after only 1000 kms.

    i was even very cautious of using pasm sport on bad roads not to increase rattles.

    this is the downside of firm suspension, low profile tires.

    I am doing exactly the same. A friend told me that's there are some rattles from the flap mechanism of the fan. I will check it out.

    zoltan what is your suspension ?Normal, PASM or SPORT?

    PASM. I was biased to sport but you know how bumpy are the roads around. So i ended to PASM. I had some seconds thoughts about it but it's really amazing. May be sport would be too stiff for Greece.

    There are new spray lubricants (teflon, PTE (?)) that will not hurt plastics. They even spray them on electronics (for moisture repellant) sails for sailboats. Perhaps just liberally spray the suspect area and wipe off excess.

    I suspect he meant to type PTFE, an acronym for poly-tetrafluoroethylene. 'Teflon' is DuPont's brand name for this compound.

    I have 19" wheels (no PASM though) with ZERO rattles, squeaks, etc. Your's is definitely not normal. My 911 is extremely well-screwed and tight; over bumps or road imperfections, the car feels 'all of one piece' and solid.

    I hope my car will be the same! The demonstrator I drove had a very loud rattle in the dash. I wonder if you're in the minority....

    I have the same rattles. It is extremely annoying. The rattles started after the first 75 miles. The dealer ordered a new vent that is due to be installed this week. I also drove two 997s on the dealer lot, both brand new (less than 30 miles) and both had rattles--not as loud as the rattle on my car, but rattles nonetheless.

    Same here, 3,500 miles and no noises, rattles, nothing. Same setup, 19 inch wheels and no PASM.

    Problem sorted.

    Last week it was extremely annoying and it sounded like a metallic rattle, even worse using PASM sport- something like chassis's flexing.

    It was the greasers on the top mounts of front suspension.

    Now the car is very solid, thnx God

    Congrats Zoltan! Just read my post on this thread written before I got my car...fortunately my car is rattle free now after 5000km.
