Pilot:Things are holding up pretty good considering ;) Last weekend was amazing, sweet, and fun so we will be holding on to that feeling for as long as possible.

So your daughter is intelligent, attractive and educated. And her father has a great taste in cars. So... where's the catch?

Ha ha, RC may be on to something...
Joking aside, thanks for all the comments. Sometimes I wished we had a like button for postings here on Rennteam. I really enjoy the intelligence, variety of interests, and maturity we have on here.

Maybe it's the fact that she turns into a wolf when the moon is full?
She says hello and thank you!

Most very welcome!
Gray Black is still my favorite color...
Last Saturday morning was checking-in time at my Porsche dealer for some routine maintenance. My appointment was scheduled for 8 AM, but we arrived a little bit early so my daughter took the opportunity to have some fun with her camera (actually her friend’s camera that she borrowed) and the orange cones :)
The dealership is currently undergoing construction to expand its facility to meet expected future demands. I can't wait for the grand opening, but it is going to be a while still since they just started breaking ground.
As mentioned, the work performed on our GT3 RS was just for routine maintenance and three hours later we were back on the road, watching the fuel needle drop as we had fun. Luckily I had my well-trained and eagle-eyed copilot with me to keep a lookout for cops.
I absolutely love driving our RS, and I can honestly say that Grey Black is still my favorite color. It can produce so many different shades depending on the light, including warm chocolatey brown tones.
I have to say that I feel very welcome at my dealership, both as a customer and a car enthusiast. I mentioned to my technician (who is the shop foreman) how much he contributes to my Porsche GT3 ownership. He and I never run out of topics to discuss, we both enjoy driving, and we are very much on the same page when it comes to traditional values like professionalism, passion, and attention to detail; I trust him with my car 100% and that’s so important for me.
Till next time. Cheers!

Great pics and lovely story once more GG! It's so refreshing to hear positive news about a mechanic and a dealership for a change. I myself don't trust car salespeople as far as I can throw them, I regard them on the same level as house agents... That's why I am so happy I have a mechanic friend who takes care of my car for me. Someone I trust 100%, which is a great reassurance!
I can see you're still very much in love with the 997, but do you get tempted by more recent models lately, or is the 997 a keeper for you?
Porsche, separates Le Mans from Le Boys
Yes, I got really lucky with my dealership and car. Between all the memories and photo shoots I would find it exceedingly difficult to give my RS up, despite the fact that it would fetch seriously good money in this current market. I find the proportions and performance of this generation beautifully balanced and the color makes it look so elegant, yet bold. Plus, I love analog gauges and the absence of any and all unnecessary tech.
When we arrived at the dealer that morning I opened the engine lid to release the heat and allow it to cool down so it wouldn't be too hot for the mechanic to work on. I mentioned to my daughter how opening the lid reminded me of my dad who drove beetles most of his life until he couldn't find any good used ones or parts for his car anymore. Being able to see and touch your engine is something so fundamental and the inability to do so is something that I don't understand with the newer 911 generation cars.
You are correct Joost, it is getting harder and harder to find people who are reliable and who you can trust 100%. A few years back when my car was in for a service my mechanic pointed out and asked me if I was aware of a small crack on the large plastic panel near the engine. When I said no and asked him if he thinks something might have hit it he replied that it couldn't have come from any external impact (so it likely happened while some work was being done and I only ever had work done at my dealer). He ended up ordering a new panel for me and the dealer covered everything even though my car was already out of warranty. A little goes a long way when it comes to a good relationship.
