    That black looks horrible.  How many different shades are there?  Paint, roof, engine cover, plastic bumper parts, window tint, massive B pillar, plus some smaller bits I'm probably missing.

    Hope this is not too off topic, but I couldn't find a new 992 GTS thread.

    I like the center lock turbo S rims, but not wild about Satin Black.  Looks a bit dirty to me.  But the silver Carrera S wheels are not center lock.  Which option would you folks choose?

    Alternatively, can you paint the Turbo S rims Gloss Black?

    In pecking order I have GT3 > GTS > Touring.  For some reason the 992 Touring seems less impressive than the 991.2 Touring, based on appearances although that might change when viewed in the sheet metal, and plastic.

    Regarding the model, I am becoming more and more convinced that GT3 is too harsh a ride for me for daily use.  Currently I have a Carrera 4S (pic above) with gloss black Carrera S non center lock rims.

    I would always choose not to have centerlocks, if offered a choice.  I remove my wheels all the time (rotate after every track day) and the centerlocks are a pain (and would be quite a problem if you have a puncture on a road trip far from a Porsche dealer or a place that has experience with Porsche centerlocks and the required tools).

    with the GTS they are standard - we're considering a 4GTS dark blue exterior with dark turbo wheels and blacked out aero package. Inside you can have now two tone leather which looks nice on the config.

    Hi Grant, and thanks for the heads up about the center locks.  Is there a tool I could have in my car if I have a flat or other tire damage.  I don't track any more, but I do travel frequently.  How difficult is it to remove and put back on?

    Yes but on at least two occasions I have had flats in rural areas with no Porsche repair nearby.  Tires were plugged at local shop and I could continue until a later full repair.

    I'm usually a fan of black cars with gold wheels but the tone of this is way too coppery. It would look great if they were just a bit lighter on the saturation.

    The car comes with a socket, but you need a huge 1.5 meter long breaker-bar with 3/4" square to loosen nut and a huge 600 NM torque wrench to tighten (and special Aluminum paste that gets all over everything and car has to be lifted before moving nut.  Also need to be very sure that safety latch is in locked position before driving or you could die and most mechanics know nothing of this, including many Porsche guys - it's a very subtle difference to know if locked).

    You also have to torque, loosen 120 degrees and then re-tighten every time to seat properly...

    If my GT3 had a 5-lug option available instead of centerlocks, I would pay dearly to have it Smiley

    This is one of the more compact solutions, though I would also recommend the adapter to lengthen the breaker bar:

    It doesn’t always go quite to plan either. I have bent my 1000Nm breaker bar trying to remove a couple. Suspect at some point the greasing procedure wasn’t followed correctly. I had Manthey crack them all open and check, regrease and retorque them but they said it was fairly common for them to stick. Moral of the story is any shop might need a long strong steel pipe as well if one is being stubborn. A royal PITA if you ask me.

    AGATE is the default choice. The (very expensive) carbon roof would enhance the looks IMO.
