I think wheel-choice is pivotal in making this car look good.
IMO the Cayman on these pics look like an old, butt-heavy and less elegant version of the 997 (first two pics) and pretty cool on the red car version.
I think it's important for the look how far back the rear window/c-beam hits the back of the car. The more 911-like the back gets, the less cool it looks IMO.

Here is the pic of the Cayman.
Notice the rear lights, looks like some tape has been placed over them to look like the standard Boxsters.
and the side duct as well looks glued on again to make us think its a boxster. I like the flares on the rear fenders.
If anyone wants to fool around on photoshop, use the photo below, b/c its has the general lines of the Cayman.

I'm hoping Porche will have done a bit more to make it more distinguishable from the boxster other than putting a fixed roof on it, maybe a different front spoiler, headlights, tailight design, etc. Even if it's just the small stuff, small stuff goes a long way sometimes, but then again the new Boxster is a great looking car.

It is very different from the Boxster. Front, back, side... you can tell the difference.
