Eh, I say why not. A little more downforce in the rear really isn't going to hurt your handling, it will just keep the rear planted a little more at speed. I think I've read that the wing only puts down like 30 something net pounds of downforce. This isn't like putting on a cup car front end only, that could be dangerous because you'd oversteer, but a little more rear downforce alone really isn't. That would only be a negative if there's TON of rear downforce and you made the front light, which isn't going to happen with the RS wing. I agree that the width of the car helps make big wings look right. What would be really great is to use the RS rear wing with the new aerokit front.

I think the question was probably intended to mean "Will the 996 GT3RS rear wing fit onto a 997?". It won't, because the engine lid openings on the 996 and 997 are different.

Yeah, I wasn't really thinking of whether he'd get the exact stock piece to fit. Although, it shouldn't take too long for a decklid with uprights to come along in the aftermarket.

Why does the GT3 have that wing? I guess because it improves performance of that specific car on the race track.
Since you want a wing for your 997 I assume it is because you are spending alot of time on the track. Check out how much your performance is increased with this particuar wing on the 997.
Probably not enough to warrent the expense and impressive-though-functional ugliness of the GT3 wing stuck to your 997.

The 997 s is a wider than 996 so i think i'll look nice. Since it is a big wing..
Your comments and ideas..
There may be two problems:
1. aerodynamics
2. fitting
If you get too much downforce on the rear axle, well...you know what happens to the front at higher speeds.
And if you don't fit the rear wing right, it may brake, fly away or whatever at higher speeds, not to speak about the warning light for the automatic rear wing if you remove it. I'm not sure if and how it can be de-activated.
To be honest: I wouldn't do it. Go for the aerokit if you really want a wing, although I agree that the GT3RS wing looks much nicer.
