Awesome stuff Sergini! Thanks.
Porker, will I meet you at the 24h of Spa and Le Mans Classic?
Hi Futch, I'm attending the 24h of Le Mans next week, Le Mans Classic is not on the agenda. Are you coming to the 24h of Le Mans as well?
24h of Spa I'll visit as well, it would be a privilege to meet up there!
24h of Le Mans, I have something planned that weekend, very unfortunately, but I will be at the qualifying on Thursday night.
I'll see you at the 24 hr of Spa then for sure. I'll be with AF Corse.

I'm heading for Le Mans late in the afternoon on Thursday, I hope to get there in time for the night qualifying session.
I'll drop you a PM with my number, you never know! I'll keep some beers cold on the campsite!
So now the bug has bitten again. Will be competing in the VLN 4, june 23 in a Z4 in V5 for Black Falcon. I will be at the Ring from Friday 22 to get re-accustomed to the car and drive already in the morning on the GP circuit. I will probably also take the GT3RS out on Friday to have some fun. If anyone is around just pass by the Black Falcon box, it's a great experience.
Cheers
Mike
So finally I short recap from the last VLN which was a bit a mixed bag for Team Black Falcon.
It was the first one after the 24h race but still 174 entries. Also the winning Audi R8LMS ultra with Frank Stippler and Marc Basseng behind the wheel took part next to the usual suspects like the Falken Porsche, Rowe SLS et all. I started the race with two new teammates on the Black Falcon Z4 3.0 in the V5 class. It was the first time since Novembre last year since I had been driving on the Nordschleife so I was a bit nervous. At least Friday morning we could practice on the Kurzanbindung which is used for the VLN so I could get accustomed to the Z4 again. Later afternoon at the Test und Einstellfahrten I did 3 laps on the complete course which were solala. Saturday morning in qualifying I was the last of us three going for a quick lap on new tyres but I did not have a clean lap so we qualified 7 out of 8 which is nothing to write home about. There were still some quick drivers in V5 but now the music plays in the V6 (series class till 3.5 litre) where my team mates Knechtges, Scheerbarth and Jans qualified second and Pflueger / Rieff 4 in their CSLs.
We decided that I drive the first stint so my adrenaline level was going up big time as the start is always quite nerve wrecking, loads of cars around you going for the Haug Hacken and you never get a clean lap. But I managed that and had some nice fights with different cars and drove 8 laps till piting. The only thing was missing top speed on the Döttinger Höhe as the car did not pull when shifting from 5. to 6. so we lost a bit of time there as you drive full throttle even through Tiergarten. I anyway did a 10.03 so I was pleased with that. My teammates did also a fantastic job and we brought the car home after 4 hours without any scratch and got 5. places. Unfortunately the No1. CSL crashed when leading in the last lap so it's now really tough for them to defend the overall title. The second CSL got 2. place.
Next time I will take part at the RCN July 28 together with the 3. times Champion Alex Böhm for fun and a bit of coaching. Afterwards we will visit Spa as Black Falcon participates in the 24h race where they won 3. place last year with the revival SLS GT3 called "Rote Sau". Would be cool to meet some fellow RTs there.

@M3ike: congrats! Funnily, I ended up just 2 places behind you on the overall ranking. ;-) And I took 3rd place in our class (Cup3).
That's why I hate Döttinger Höhe!!!
Naaah, not the full season unfortunately. I usually do about 6 races. This year I had to skip the first three. I'll do VLN #5 next week, then will skip two and prob do the last three ones, end of Aug, end of Sep and end of Oct. My personal goal is to go below 10min, which I hope will happen next week if conditions are ok!
Hope to meet you there someday! (We're in box #9)
I keep the fingers crossed for you to reach your target. My target is also to go below 10 min. which I almost did this time but due to a Vanos problem we lost 7 km/h top speed compared to the sister car.
I will probably only drive in the last VLN this year as it costs a fortune especially when you have an accident. I will be with my GT3RS at the Redbull Ring in September and will also have the chance to drive a current Cup 911!
I will definitely show up next time I'm there, I think we are box No.11 so almost neighbours.
Cheers
Mike

24h underway, utter carnage in these condition. Kevin Estre is a thing to behold in these conditions:

Interesting race indeed. 24H is is to be a 12H because of the fog :-(
I am in car #89, class SP3T, A Hyundai built by Carlsson.de.
Crazy carnage:
Congrats to Dan and teammate Andrew (used to live in Denver and track his GT3 with me)

He is amazing - they should make him set all the factory lap times (maybe they intentionally used Kern instead for the 992 GT3 to leave room for an Estre lap of the new RS )

Gnil:Some of the overtakes are just completely crazy
I don't understand how he does it. There didn't even seem to be a scratch on the car after the race.
Same with that famous overtake on the grass, how do you keep you foot planted if you know one of your driven wheels is on the grass...

It is like all becomes nearly still for them, moves slowly . The actually speed disappears and what is left is just what goes on between him and the others cars and the side of the track. A window where all is neatly still and he can just put his car where he wants to.....

Estre has a busier schedule, apart from racing he is also guest coach to Carrera Cups and such, so he is aways travelling somewhere.
Kern is the resident tester, I mean he does races for Pfaff but mostly he is home at the factory testing cars.
