    Porsche Sport Exhaust for Pre 8/02 Boxster, how much better?

    How much better does the PSE sound over stock exhaust for Base Boxster?? I'm thinking about getting it, but I've never heard it. Any reference of how the sound is would be appreciated!

    Not much of a difference. PSE sounds best on the 2.5L engine because it doesn't have pre-cats.

    Sounds good, but not as loud as the 996 PSE.
    They get rid of the turbine like whine at low revs, nice.
    But be aware, they also look very weird, like small holes surrounding the main exhaust pipes... I don't mind it, but it's not to everyone's tastes.

    fanch supposedly that was to echo some racer at sebring, or so porsche's literature says... hmmph

    anyways, yes, it gets rid of the sewing machine sound coming from the base engine

    its worth it, really adds a growl

    Yeah I remember reading that too Moogle,
    a reminiscence of the old Sebring exhaust! Humm... Not sure.
    To be honest I don't even know what Sebring exhaust they're talking about, but the Boxster MK1 sport exhaust is weird looking but not ugly IMO.
    It's a shame that after the Boxster MK1 they stopped making a PSE

    Is the growl as good as though on 911? I find my Boxster doesn't sound very Porsche like because it lacks that 911 growl. So I can definitely tell a difference from the stock exhaust, right? I wish Porsche makes exhaust like Ferrari.
