So will Apple insist that its F1 cars be built in China and have Apple Car Play installed. F1 has been losing audience and fans, Apple would really put the nail into F1's coffin.
Might as well turn F1 into a another Pokeman contest and get it over with.

I do not believe a word... Apple and F1? Never. It would not look good in their environmental book, especially if they are trying to promote an ELV or some sort of modern mass commuting.

It does seem a bit fantastic, not to mention out of character for the company. However there are some "car guys" at Apple. Eddie Cue, for example, is on the Board of Ferrari. Maybe it's not actually Apple but some group that includes one or more Apple executives. So, for example, if, say, Eddie Cue were part of some negotiations, it might lead to a rumor that it was Apple.

I'm a car guy too but if I was at Apple calling the shots I would not touch the current F1 farce with a ten foot pole though...

I agree, Apple seems an unlikely customer for such a deal, but, as I said, perhaps some Apple executive(s), acting privately, is part of a group that is a possible buyer, and that that circumstance is what brought Apple into the rumor.
It's also entirely possible that someone is just starting stupid rumors.

Agreed. Someone needs to be completely nuts to get involved with that F1 circus right now. Maybe Kanye West?

SciFrog:Would make more sense to buy Formula E and compete vs Formula 1...
Funny...I was thinking the same regarding Formula E.

CGX car nut:Apple would be crazy to enter the automobile manufacturing business because of the low margins. Apple buying F1 is the very height of insanity and should be disregarded.
I doubt it will happen. Formula E would, maybe, make sense for Apple but F1? Never ever.
