Is the Coupe in the US, has anyone else seen it?

How many people have actually seen the new coupe? I been invited by Porsche to see a car priced between the Boxster S and the 997. What could it be? Is it the new coupe?

Re: Is the Coupe in the US, has anyone else seen it?

I'm sure it's the new Kia Picanto.

Are you being really, really ironic - or are you really serious about this question?

Re: Is the Coupe in the US, has anyone else seen it?

This is a serious question, am I going to see the new coupe?

Re: Is the Coupe in the US, has anyone else seen it?

Yes I think you are, the new coupe is supposed to be between the Boxster S and the 997 in terms of price and performance.
They probably won't let take pictures, but make sure you take some nonetheless!;) With a mobile phone should do it!

Re: Is the Coupe in the US, has anyone else seen it?

When are you going to get to see it?

Re: Is the Coupe in the US, has anyone else seen it?

I think I saw some Elvis lookin' dude driving one last week

    Soon.

Re: Is the Coupe in the US, has anyone else seen it?

Porsche are holding lots of focus group meetings in the US at the moment, where the topic of discussion is the upcoming coupe. You will see the coupe in the flesh and be told all of the technical details and you then get asked questions on pricing etc. You will have to sign a strict non-disclosure agreement first so you can't spill the beans.

If you've been invited to such an event, yes. The "Cayman" is in the US right now.

Porsche AG & PCNA, invite me. I'm a blackhole of secrets. I won't tell anyone about the "Cayman" (oh please change that name...I whence just typing it) even if AutoWeek beats me with a tire iron. Call me.

Re: Is the Coupe in the US, has anyone else seen it?

This is sooo wrong! (not yopu or your focus group tony) but hey, porsche says it is about a car "prized between a 987 and a 997"... so that is what they already know! whatever you say about it, that is a thing that is certain!

Vtrader- please tell them that you would love to have a lightweight Club Sport version with dry sump motor and adjustable suspension (ala GT3)

Grant, maybe you don't understand what this is all about: it is about creating a price tag. The product is final.
Porsche doesn't listen to us anymore, I have good manners, otherwise I would publish all the paperwork I got from them over the last few months. In my opinion...insulting.

    Insulting?......pertaining to what? Just curious....

That's too bad - I was hoping that it would be quite a drivers' car. I know the dry-sump is a long-shot, but I thought the Club Sport was a possibility...

Re: Is the Coupe in the US, has anyone else seen it?

can you guys comment on the interior of the cayman? in particular, what is behind the seats? is it like a mini storage area or is it blocked off? mini storage like the rear area of an rx7, or blocked off as in boxster (since the top needs to fold down into that area)

i ask because i am deciding on either ordering a boxster s now, or waiting for this cayman to be released. if there is some sort of storage system back there, then i will wait. but if its blocked off like in the boxster, then i think ill go ahead and get the boxster.

i hope someone is willing to pass this info onto myself. thanks!

Fret not, Its been quite extensively leaked in Autocar and Car magazines that there will be a cs version.

Re: Is the Coupe in the US, has anyone else seen it?

RC, I noticed you put "Cayman" in quotations...

Does this mean there is a remote hope that the name may still change? Man, I hope everyone in those focus groups thinks the same way I do...

Re: Is the Coupe in the US, has anyone else seen it?

Sorry guys, had to sign a non-disclosure. Can not tell you what I saw or touched or how many or anything else.

Re: Is the Coupe in the US, has anyone else seen it?

    Meanie,

some crumbs won't go amiss, such as did you like it?
