    New Boxster

    i just got to test drive the new 987 S and when i was done noticed that the driver side air intake did not have an actual hole to where air could get into the engine like the passenger side does? Is there any function to the driver side air intake?

    would look ugly to have only one intake in one side.

    this is the same as in 986 unless I am mistaken although I think in 986 it was the other way around.

    Also, I belive although the side intakes are larger, the actual hole is the same as in 986...

    That's the problem with having the driver of the 'right' side of the car - the air intake is on the left hand side so the drivers in the left hand drive markets get the full induction sound. Was the same on the 986. Think it does let some air in as part of the cooling process though

    did not think about that for right hand wheel cars, my car has the wheel on the left and yes, I get a richer sound than passenger.
