    ONE MORE 997 C2 Arctic Sil factory painted console against Black leather...extreme rear part of center console pictured (btw..rear seatback is stock grey but flash reflection makes look brighter than actual)

    For one reason or another, I dont like the painted centre console... it looks like they forgot to put some leathe rover it or so... some of the exterior on the inside... you don't put something of the interior on the outside, do you?

    For anyone who's interested, I think the LIGHT leather/DARK painted console colors (as in Stone Grey/Midnight) work better than the other way around. I think the painted center console thing came off a bit better aesthetically in the 996 than in the (boxier/more squared off styled console) 997...Just posted the pics as an interesting design study.

    The interior on GT silver 2004 Anniversary (996) Natural Grey sport seats with matching option GT silver console is a real looker.

    The terracotta with slate looks great, I was toying with the idea of getting my center console painted basalt black with my terracotta interior - it would have looked great but a friend of mine warned that the paint does get scratched just like the exterior if you place anything on it so I refrained.. nonetheless, it looks superb.

    Look at early Porsche roadsters. They all had painted-to-body-color interior panels? Why? because they were stripped down for cost reasons or weight reasons.

    Because of these non-GT origins I can't see the luxurious and sumptuous 911 with this option. Besides, the boxy and functional center console is already problematic enough with the buttons and large screen; setting it off with yet another disperate elelent like the painted rear console can't help. The Boxster definitely looks "right" with this option.

    Looks nice, but I'd rather see it in person. Scratching is definitely a concern.

    Are rear painted console or other painted interior parts available options for 997 cabs? Porsche's car config isn't updated yet for 997 cabs but Niello's is and it doesn't list any of the painted interior parts as options. ???

    as long as you are going for the full leather, go for another 1400 and get the rear center console in leather. looks a lot richer

    Thanks Damian, I like a dark looking interior, with alu look center console! Very nice, wonder what it would look like with the door panels in alu look as well, maybe a bit much?
