3000km for France and rest of continental Europe. Meanwhile 2000 miles> 3000 kilometers, but that is not an issue since the manual states "for the first 3000 kms" or I guess in the US manual, "the first 2000 miles". You can conclude that those value are hypothetical. Judge by yourself what bound is good for you. I would say first 1000 miles is an average observed by many car companies. Why not stick to it? A Porsche is far more solid than an Impala or any chevy sedan. I'm sure you won't break anything if proper used.

No, I'm not a "scientist." Rather, I'm a person who tries to do the right things for himself and others here regarding the "best" if not at least the "proper" way to break in a new Porsche.

Sorry, I didn't want to be mean...I just said the question feels stupid, not you of course. I would have rather written "your question can't be easily answered given my knowledge". I evidently don't have figures and proofs on hand to contribute to an adequate answer to your question.
