    997 Aerokit

    Just received a Porsche brochure containing pics of the Aerokit for 977. Looks exactly like the 'GT3' pics posted by sergini. The kit includes a reduced ride height for the car. Dont know if this was the case with the old 996 kit already.

    Reduced ride height? Interesting!
    Could come with the 20 mm sports chassis standard but doesn't make much sense.
    Reduced ride height just for the sake of it? Could be too, but doubt it.

    Reduced ride height, my assumption is that the front bumper is lower to the ground than the standard one .

    I don't quite like the aerokit, specially the busy front. But the Sport Exhaust tips that this car has look better than in other pictures.

    That front would look substantially better and more appropriately aggressive if it lost the " innner " lips . What were they thinking ? Looks like a smaller fish being swallowed whole in there .

    BTW, what do you think about the body-coloured rims, shown in the pic? In fact I think that is the only thing that looks good at that car with the Aerokit (and most probably they aren't included and must be paid seperately... )

    It may not be the prettiest thing, but since it is essentially the same front as the Cup cars, we know it will provide a good amount of appreciated front downforce. I know lots of GT3 owners who are going to be impressed by the addition of the brake cooling slots in the lip spoiler. With both the Mk1& II GT3, brake airflow is not as good as the Turbo and GT2.

    Good eye as usual Rossi, I personally didn't even notice they were body color painted wheels, they look good in that pic... but I'm not sure in real life

    Wow, I really dont' think i'm liking this, now I'm a little scared that I won't like the looks of the 997 turbo? Odd enough, from what I've seen the 997 GT3 looks great.

    If I were going to put an aero kit of any kind(never but theoretically speaking) I would do the tech art kit, looks tons better than what Porsche has managed to scrape up here, disasturous, disgusting, disapointing.

    This 997 RUF RT12 ( right ) also has a 5 radiator opening bumper cap - but it's done so much better -smooth like the classic 911 form . No busy jutting/receding "fish swallowing a fish " look like on the coming factory aerokit where it looks like a second kit glued in front of another . C'mon PAG designers ! ( Maybe PAG can do a secret deal with the RUF designer on this piece )
