None of the current supercars stand a chance against the Radical SR8, or even against the SR3 Turbo which did the 7:19 at the ring with street tires already in only the first and only lap it did. While the CGT's best is 7:28.
The SR8 has similar power to weight than the SR3 Turbo but much better power delivery (N/A V8) and improved aerodinamics and they say its even faster so I can't wait till they finish it and take it to the ring

No doubt its a hell of car. However, can anyone assure me that the company will be around for the next 5 years? After all, this is not a TVR where you can swallow a $50k lose if the company decided to close its doors a couple of years down the road. We are talking $600,000.

Pagani has been around for a few years and Horatio Pagani seems very serious and very competent about keeping his company going. I think in 50 years we may well be looking at Paganis the way we look at Ferrari.
Of course, Ha, I personally couldn't even assure you that Porsche or Ferrari or even North America will be around for the next five years......no one knows

Why are they using this engine?
They should be using the 6.0 Liter V12 with Variable Vane Turbo's instead. Tuned that would put them at over 800 hp and with the newer Turbo technology lag could be a non-issue. Weight would increase very little. This same engine in quad for mades 850hp in the Chrysler ME4/12 concept.
Just curious, what does the typical zonda owner do with his car and how often is it seen on the track?

there is no substitute for high revving, naturally aspirated engines.
i can only the kind of pulling power a 7.3 liter AMG unit puts out.
one of these days i will get some spare time and find one of these babies to drive.
and there is no such thing as a 'typical' zonda owner, you can count the number of zondas produced every year on your hands.
it is a car for someone who has everything else already, or wants something completely different. brilliant piece of engineering.
interesting fact, over half of the roadsters produced will be going to people who already own the coupe...
