Id love the see a video with the new steel rotors/hats and dimples?

Me too - all the press cars are PCCB (which are unchanged).  Seems a shame not to show us the new hardware...

Lets hope so, that would be perfect! With rear seats of course! lolSmiley

    Re: 992 GT3

By the way, to answer the allocation issue, or the question about difficulty to get one, I placed a deposit and got order confirmation with expected manufacturing date a week later. This was back in January, I'm sure the UK is different cause the dealer mafia over there will always keep the cars from themselves.

    Re: 992 GT3

I was seriously considering a touring and was waiting for this weeks embargo to end before my order locks end of April. I could have changed to a touring although I would have relinquished the number 1 position on my dealers list to do that (Touring is May launch and production in July/Auguust for delivery in Nov/Dec here in NZ).

However the lack of aero addendum concerned me. I use the car for 10-15 track days a year (and occassional fast road drives). I could get my head around that but if they soften the spring and change the geo/calibration then thats a serious impediment to lap times. I dont think I could go from a 991.2 GT3 Clubsport to a car that was fundamentally slower on the track and have to spend 70K Euro to change over...

This thread is almost 2 years old from first sightings of the 992 GT3 mule (looks pretty much the same as the production model) to day and we have yet to actually have a customer car delivered.

Makes you wonder them must already be well done the path of designing its replacement lol!

I can't imagine many touring owners track their cars, that is one of the main points of this edition... or if they occasionally do, they are having fun not concerned about track times.  Sounds like for your use, just get a standard GT3.....

Actually, I know of quite a few 991 Tourings that are used on track.  I drove my friend's on Spa and he drove it for many laps there and at the Nordschleife.  Here at home, I know of several guys who are regulars at the track with their Tourings.

I think the new car will be much more differentiated between Wing and Touring.  While the 991 Touring was perfectly at home on track (particularly at my slower local track), I think the 992 Winged car makes much more sense for track use, if the Touring becomes more of a "Lifestyle" car as AP suggested.

I am #1 for a 992 GT3 at my local dealer and my allocation is for an October build Touring (although I requested a Wing).  I am in the process of waiting for my dealer to try to trade it for an earlier build Wing allocation, so that I might try to do Euro Delivery this Fall.  May be difficult with Covid and everything else going on...

    They are not fake.

Actually they are.... They know many GT3RS users only care about the aggressive looksyes

If you look behind the mesh on the rear vents, they are actually closed with a plastic.

On the other hand, the 991.2 GT3 vents are real smiley

While the rear vents are fake, I'm not convinced that the step surrounding the fake vents isn't there as a separation point  to improve aerodynamic efficiency.  The airflow management of the new 992 GT3 is amazing when compared with other Porsche products; just look at the number of strakes on the underbody panels near the front wheels to manage airflow.  The rear diffuser is another masterpiece of engineering.  This car is more than a small incremental improvement over the 991.2 GT3.
