    Polar grey beauty in Paris

    Well,
For those of you who wrote my dead battery advenure, at least it was well parked just before it died!
Shame, but got to drive a bit and had forgotten what a wonderful pleasure and privilege it is to drive a Porsche 911
Nothing special with the pic, just wanted to share it with you gents.
Please notice the magnificent French wanker who parked in the typical fashion!!!

That is the first thing I thought when I saw the picture! and judging by his bumper, he does that often

Anyways, I agree Fancho, we sometimes take for granted these cars, but I try to remember that everytime I turn the key and appreciate it

Re: Polar grey beauty in Paris

    damn french

Re: Polar grey beauty in Paris

    Crotte de bique!
Fanch is it your neighbour who parked this way just besides you? What a jerk, he should behave more respectfully...
Are you close to "bois de boulogne"? this street reminds me of it but I might be wrong though.

i wonder why the bumperettes are only for US porsches. they seem to be essential for parking in paris

Re: Polar grey beauty in Paris

Man, what an A$$ h@le . Now I understand the factor of jealousy you guys have been talking about in Europe .

Too bad it didn't happen in Texas you could actually shoot the guy .

Re: Polar grey beauty in Paris

Maybe Fanch needs parking lessons too?

    How so?

Re: Polar grey beauty in Paris

So, how and where could we get these bumperettes? I would seriously consider a couple if only I knew where to buy them.

Re: Polar grey beauty in Paris

I don't believe you can fit the bumperettes after market. They're specifically for the U.S. market because of department of public safety certain regulations. You actually need to change the rear bumper to fit the U.S. specific bumperettes.

Re: Polar grey beauty in Paris

yes, the bumperettes have metal supports behind them that attach to the frame. the bumper has 2 holes that allow the brackets to come through

interesting world innit? US customers seem to want to get rid of them, whereas RoW customers want them!

Re: Polar grey beauty in Paris

Are you sure? I mean; US plates are less wide than euro ones... so it seems that the bumoerettes fit perfectly to fill the space when equipped with US plates.

Yes. U.S. Lic. plates are more of square shape than rectanglar shape like in Europe.

Re: Polar grey beauty in Paris

sure they fit perfectly to help fill the extra space, but that is not there primary function

Re: Polar grey beauty in Paris

I know. I reacted on Rons post in which he stated that they would not fit on a euro bumper.

Re: Polar grey beauty in Paris

nope... bumperets can be added into the european bumpers.

Imagine the picture above without bumperets. The frame would fit for the european cars. So... its the same bumper!

On my 996 there are two big square shape holes that the bumperets are bolt in to the body, they're not glued on to the bumper though.

Re: Polar grey beauty in Paris

Lars, that is what I thought too.

Re: Polar grey beauty in Paris

I, for one, do not want to get rid of bumperettes at all. They fulfill an important role - form follows function.

Re: Polar grey beauty in Paris

Personally, I believe that the bumperettes ruin the look of the bumper, IMO

Re: Polar grey beauty in Paris

    Fanch, these french frogs!

Your car is beautiful. It's in my favourite colour.

PS: I would never put those bumpettes on a Porsche. They are really ugly! Prefer to have scratched the car rather than go around with those two ugly things coming out of the rear of my car!

Re: Polar grey beauty in Paris

If someone parked that close to me I would go into my trunk and re-arrange his car with my sledgehammer and leave a note to ask him to park nicely next time.

    Some people have no shame
