Wow.... I think the confusion is that Ferrari measures in Italian pounds / kilos. They are well known to be heavier than normal pounds and kilos.

Maybe not an issue as much in the era of turbocharged engines, but Ferrari used to stretch the truth of the number of horses in its corral as well...

Maybe that weight comparison shows that if Ferrari used a carbon tub, they wouldn't have to....

Lamborghini exaggerates as well...my car weights 1548 kg (measured), Lamborghini officially claims 1382 kg I think.
