    Our Former Ferraris – Where Are They Now?

    I know of only one car where it ended up (and was destroyed Smiley): My former 996 Turbo S RS-Tuning, amazing car, had so many improvements like sintermetal clutch system with one mass flywheel, gearbox cooling system, GT2 intercoolers, 100 cell catalytic converters, etc.

    Sold it because I switched to a supercharged E55 AMG (first kid got older and I needed a faster family car), the owner crashed the 996 Turbo a few months later, totaled it, he survived it, don't know what happened exactly but this car was extremely fast.

    Kept the E55 AMG for only six months, after I put another 6k or so in it for a rear axle locking differential install and an updated gearbox software (everything installed in Affalterbach at AMG), got a Cayenne Turbo afterwards. Smiley Tuned the Cayenne Turbo with the original Porsche Powerkit from 450 to 500 hp.

    Oooo, the supercharged 55 engine. One of the best engines ever.

    No joke that it has instant torque from idle, nothing compares, for street use it has no equal. Too bad it doesn't rev that high but who cares it doesn't do 7k when all the power is already there from idle and up.

    As far as I know, all the Ferraris I've owned are still on the road (or parked in garages/barns/etc.)

    Was your 550 silver grey or titan grey? in 2002 I bougth a used (2001) 550 Marinello at Eberlein in Kassel, perhpas it was your car Smiley

    Mine was silver and I traded it to Eberlein in Nov 2006 so doubt it was the same car.  Also mine had gold calipers.

    Mine was 2001 360 Modena F1. with a lots of transmission problems that I've owned in 2003.

    Had a 360 Modena as well! But after a gear box repair of 16.000 Euro sold the car! This was the end of my Ferrari "love". After this only bought German sports car. But my first R8 suffered with oil leakage of the central crankshaft seal. After 3 years and 4 changes of this seal (each time motor out) Audi replaced the engine. Have to honest to Ferraries are special cars.

    Haha, but still not as bad as Ferrari V12s. My old CLS 55 can do at least 300km a tank.

    i totally agree.  imagine driving a car in he city of New York ,downshifting and transmission on occasions  for no particular reason goes from  3 to 1 or from 4 to 2 at 6.000 rpm.

    Drove them, sold them!  There was an arbitrage for a while about 2005:  about 5 of them I bought on the East Coast for 185 and sold on the West Coast for 215after driving them 1500 miles each, the rest i just owned and drove.

    Yes the Labs loved them but they like the Scuds better
