I hate my Performante on winter tires, the drive feel is more indifferent, it is difficult to explain but the car feels less planted and there is a certain "sponginess" in the drive feel. Still...I once drove with the PZero Corsa at around 1°C and the car slipped badly, very dangerous, especially since the loss of traction happened very sudden in a roundabout and I almost hit the boardwalk (thank god I reacted properly and didn't stay on the brake).
Get winter tires, even if it doesn't snow. Once the temperatures drop below 10°C, winter tires have an advantage, also when it is raining and freezing cold (before it starts snowing).
I am not a fan of all-seasons, they are not really good in any weather.

To be honest, yes.
It lurks in small corners always, when you're paying attention it's ok, but like yesterday on the autoroute when you're just cruising it can suddenly snap as no other car I know. I accelerated away from a construction zone, slowly, not thinking twice of it but clearly too much power for the wet/cold road and before you know it you're briefly traveling sideways at 160km/h.

it’s almost impossible to stay concentrated 100% of the time- you need Godspeed with you or you’re going to stuff it in winter.... just some black ice. I hope you’re running studded tyres like Hakkas

I take back anything mean/negative I might have said about the 812, I just had to enjoy it in the right (admittedly limited) habitat. I’ve enjoyed it now over the weekend in a way I have not before, in conditions I had not used it before. We left from CH to Italy which -after the tedious CH motorways- brought us on to some deserted Italian autostrada towards the Piemonte region. Hilariously quick as ever on the autostrada, but then open arrival in Piemonte literally endless deserted winding roads between the vineyards awaiting us. Fantastic, the car felt so at home in that setting, sliding around if provoked or pottering along enjoying the views. And the way people react to it in Italy only adds to the occasion, complete opposite to anywhere else. Yes it remains absurdly wide and thirsty and the racing seat unsupportive and hard, but all of that is forgiven.

I think I would appreciate an older V12 at some point, genre 550 Maranello.
To illustrate my point of the right setting for this car, the roads in Piemonte are just to die for. As is the entire autostrada from Genoa to the Mont Blanc. Brilliant.

Beautiful interior choices Watt. Not super keen on the exterior color, looks a bit beige/champagne on screen, I can imagine it looking much better in person but still, unique choice. Not that I wouldn't take a drive on an 812 even it was polka dotted in purple.

Glad you have seen the light
I agree, but I wouldn't mind a V12 to be a softer proposition. I don't need the 812 to be as hyperactive as it is tbh.

It's Grigio Ingrid, the config misrepresents the color, find it on line to see it correctly
