    lisamcgu, it's really great that you love your SLK. Honestly. It's great to have a car you adore.

    But I hate to tell you, the UK roads are just as much of a battleground! I wish it were as ilylic as you paint it.

    Irresponsible? Erm, yep, frequently verging on the reckless! Especially on commuter runs around London.

    And you definitely need a rain car!

    If you haven't ever been over, do come though! There are some great country pubs to drive to. idylic? Definitely!

    Where did you get this info from? Do you work for Porsche or something?

    Boxsters are meant to be an entry-level Porsche, just like F360's(now 430) are to Ferrari. I don't think your F360 is a poor man's Ferrari.

    Also, you mentioned that Boxsters resemble 911's too much.
    However, this is a trend in the auto. industry now.
    Please take a look at MB's and BMW's. I will never say a SLK55 is a poor man's SL or a 5-series a poor man's 7-series. You got the idea?

    All this 'poor man' talk. How many people buy/own their cars? That's all that matters. I bet if you had to buy/own your cars to post here, the posters would be few in number.

    And don't start giving me any BS about why you lease. Been there, done that. It is BS and we all know it. Leasing a car is renting a car by the year, that's all.

    Right. The F430 is a Ferrari mass product and production will very likely increase over the next few years. The Enzo successor needs development money.

    Wow...can't even read through all the arguments before I decide to post.

    IMO, the boxster is a better convertible sportscar than any 911 cab. As far as comparing the boxster to the 911 coupe, lets wait until the boxster coupe comes out.

    A poor man's 911....whatever makes people happy. Personally, I buy the car. Not the brand, nor the image. So label it anyway you want. I drive a G35, and my wife recently purchased the 987.

    The most important element on the track is probably the driver. I remember keeping up with a 911 at Laguna Seca in my Civic during my college years.....

    What the Boxster and the 911 share, is that they are both superior and 10 times more beautiful then all other cars out there in their class.. Thats why they carry a Porsche logo.. anyone who claims the Boxster is a cheap man;s Porsche is obviously jalous.. The Boxster is not in the shadow of the 911 but drives right next to it miles ahead of all other cars!! So stop the arguing and enjoy the existance of both these amazing cars!
