    making a decision (new carrera S or my 996 turbo x50

    I have a miritime blue 996 turbo (x50) with province blue interior 2004 and now I saw a carrera S (wight/cocoa) full option for 100k and they agreed to exchange it with my car for no extra charge ! and thats the best price I can get here in middle east so what do you think? should I take the new carrera S and buy the next turbo? or keep my car and wait ?

    Drive the 997 before any decision. If it pleases you more than your X50, buy it.

    I wouldn't do it but it's really up to you. You seem to have a unique turbo and, I'm sure, that down the line, you would find that you will regret selling it. I do agree that white/bamboo brown make a stunning combination. A friend of mine has just recived his and it looks beautiful.

    your right but the problem is alot of people know about it's for sell, and I tryed the carrera S and it was fantastic.
    to compare it with the turbo, the new interior is way better than before and the technology is better too, the exterior is modern and classic in the same time and it looks better than the turbo in my eyes, finally the turbo has more power but this one is allright, one more thing about the price, the turbo is droping so fast ppl are selling the 2003 turbo with 2000 km only for 72k and this one is on its way.

    I don't want to disagree with you, nearly all the points you raised are valid and you should be happy with the 997S. I test drove it extensively, on the road and on the track, and, for me, I still get a kick out of driving my turbo. I just sold my, non X-50,'03 996 turbo tip with about 14,000kms for $92,750 (BHD35,000). Was I lucky? Maybe I was, because the buyer wanted it bad enough to pay what I asked for it.
    If your heart tells you it's time for a change, go for it. Best of luck and keep us informed on what you end up doing.
