If you play with the AM configurator, the difference that the vaned front makes to the coupe fixes a lot of the previous criticisms. I really like it. Don't know why they didn't do it in the first place as it provides much more of a link to their heritage

Car doesn't seem happy at the track. Lots of understeer and seems unstable.

Still can't get over how ugly the front end is for the Vantage. The headlights is too small and far apart, it's like looking at someone with a face deformity that points the left eye left and right eye right and the nose got squished upwards showing only the nostrils. Something like down syndrome or something.
The back is mighty fine though so is the sides.
You see that girl, tall, slim with flowing blonde hair in front, you can't see the face so you rush to over take and look back, and suddenly the horror, you can not unseen that ugly face and your dream ruined and haunted forever.

I love the front of the Vantage more than the back. Let’s see how the Vantage S does. Will have the DBX engine tune.
I also hear the DBS engine fits the vantage engine bay.....would be a bit nose heavy but wow.

The design seems to look better in person but there are still some challenging areas as you have pointed out. Good car design, as well as bad, tends toward polarization. Aston-Martin needed to update its design language but in the process it lost the elegance of its predecessor models. Even with modern technology-the body-in-white fabrication is stellar-it remains anachronistic.

upgraded chassis courtesy of changes made to the suspension and steering. Underbody modifications were also on the "to do" list, and the car now boasts tweaks to the dampers and springs to sharpen the handling and increase body control.
The aerodynamic package is what catches the attention the most, contributing to an extra 200 kilograms of downforce at top speed.

@Nberry, Aston has a respectable history with their GT3 cars, lots of wins in a very competitive field. The Vantage even smoked Porsche in the GTE PRO & AM category and took the win in Le Mans 2020.
But sure, the car is not designed for a track or performance racing. 🙄

Better tell Aston Martin that their Formula One safety car can’t be used for the track or performance driving as this is that car’s replica.
The shape is timeless like the 911. Maybe aging even better.
Does the wing not need to be held from above now to be up date? Too much? Why not...

The purpose of life is to enjoy the moment.
And they are trying to change that image, impression of Aston Martin.
They had a racing heritage, their GT3 race cars are also competitive on track.
Right now they are the safety cars for F1, so why not cross promote?

I would estimate over 90% of Aston Martin buyers are not buying the car to track. Putting a puny wing on an elegant car to sell to the general public is a joke.
My RS is also designed for the street. I don't need a track to enjoy it although recently while racing through a very attractive road to exercise the car just got me a court date. I'm fortunate the car wasn't confiscated.

You know, even Porsche won't have 10% of it's buyers going to track. 10% is a lot.
Annual sales of 911s is around 40,000 units worldwide, do you see 4000 911s tracking?
But yes, majority of Aston Martin owners aren't buying the car to track. Even the sporty Vantage models are more grand touring oriented. Perhaps they are trying to change that.

aston imo didn't need that....they had their niche being elegant GT's
they are trying to create an image where they stand no chance. competition is light years ahead.
the f1 image is most likely an effort by the owner who is involved in f1 in trying to sell more cars. I doubt iw will work.
what they are doing is exactly the antithesis of why I would buy an Aston.
I also always found the bond association quite silly.
the product has to be at the forefront and not some association.
