    Porsche Sport Exhaust availability - Update

    I'm afraid I have bad news for those who want to get the Porsche sport exhaust for their 997 Carrera S: I just heard today that the EARLIEST availability is expected to be around end of April. Rumours indicate that Porsche changed the supplier, unfortunately I don't have more details on that story.

    Does the PSE fit a regular 997 or is it only for the Super 997?

    If it's any consellation I was driving with some other guys who were very impressed with how the stock "S" exhaust sounded as I drove by. IMO the stock exhaust is fine.

    Good thing I didnt order my car with it. Didnt want to wait longer....So I'll just retrofit later on...

    Yes, that seem the logical thing given these news, I had already decided to go to the dealer this week and work it out, but I had my heart set on getting the sport exhaust since day one. We will see, if I give the go ahead without the exhaust, the car may be here by beginning of April so it wouldn't be too long of a wait till retrofit anyway, we will see what my dealer says.

    hey carlos! greetings!

    get your car man,just go get it its around time and get you sit in it you will forgot about the PSE. and when you remember it again it will be available as a retrofit

    Good luck. You better check with your dealer because non-available CONFIRMED options could delay the build process. Just a friendly hint...

    Mine is April production and both of the dealer I went told me that the PSE would not be available for that allocation..

    As far as I know, dealers don't know when the Sport exhaust will be available, they may hear rumors and expeculate if certain build dates may have it available, but dealer will only have confirmation its available the very day it becomes available.

    Today my dealer told me for sure the sports exhaust will already be on mid of March delivered cars.

    Not a chance IMO. My dealer arranged for me a no extra cost retro-fit today, so my car will go into production without the exhaust and when it becomes available later on, it will be installed at no extra cost than if it was ordered with the car with the rest of the options.
    Since the car will take at least two months now to be produced, that means a mid-April build date more or less. Mid-March delivered car will not likely come with the exhaust as neither will my April build. And since the availability is not know yet, your dealer doesn't know when its coming out himself. He is speaing without knowledge.

    In that case tell him that if he is so sure that it will be available, if it turns out its not (very unlikely according to him) then why doesn't he cover the 800 Euro ? and then watch him start to back track on his words about the Mid-March availablity
