    I heard something Krassy today

Something crazy that is . I was getting some coffee at Starbucks today and I ran into an older gentleman that had a very clean 964, beautiful car .

We opened up some conversasion and he didn't seem to be into cars or Porsche as much as we are; but he said he heard it from the sales guy last week at the dealer ,while shopping for a Cayenne for his wife, that Porsche is planing to produce limited edition C2 Turbo (997 C2 turbo) . He asked me if I heard anything about that or not? .

It sounds real good but does anyone really think Porsche would do something like this ?

    Please some feed back.

Possibly it is the Oct. surprise Herr Wiedeking was talking about. For the first time in their history they are going to protect owner interest and value.

Imagine the value of a limited production TT.

Re: I heard something Krassy today

I don't understand... I mean, after the 997 tt and 996tts, it would be a logical step, wouldn't it? But what would be the diff then? I mean; the 997 and 997s are both "narrowbody"... or would the 997 (nonS)tt be based on the normal 997, and the future "normal" 997 turbo a whole new 997 platform but put to a higher extreme?

Re: I heard something Krassy today

Well they know the GT2 failed in the marketplace, so why not try a rwd version of the upcoming 997 Turbo with all the latter's luxe features, then a more bare bones S version after a couple years to keep our interest . Knowing Porsche, they will charge more for " less ".

Re: I heard something Krassy today

ahh, I understand... it was about 2wd or awd... sorry, my misunderstanding!

Re: I heard something Krassy today

You heard it from an old guy while at Starbucks and you're asking if this is a credible rumor?!

Did the old guy look like this ?

Re: I heard something Krassy today

How did you know, yes he did .

Re: I heard something Krassy today

Ron, does this really make sense to you?
BTW: I don't remember but does Starbucks also offer a Latte Machiatto with Whiskey in it?

Re: I heard something Krassy today

Don't make sense to me but they do serve Kahlua with coffee.

Re: I heard something Krassy today

this is why I never drink starbucks ' products
It is amazing how that little slip of Wiedekins has sent us all on a search for what this surpries could possibly be! No?

    cheers!!

Re: I heard something Krassy today

So from now on, the " rumored " RWD version of the 997 Turbo shall be known as the " Starbuck's " Turbo , LOL.
To PAG, I'll take a 200 lb lighter , nimbler feeling RWD Turbo with the rumored e-diff putting down the power with four seats and all the other stuff anytime over the AWD version . Price it $5K less than the AWD version and see 997 Turbo sales skyrocket in mild weathered locales like California .

Re: I heard something Krassy today

Please don't get my hopes up.

Re: I heard something Krassy today

Something big is scheduled for September/October for sure,my dealer is off to Europe again for a launch ala 997 last year. However this seems a launch overkill for a 997 variant. Can't it just be for the US launch of the Boxster fixed head

OH to dream , and I thought I was the only one with this particular dream....
Please let some one from PAG see this and seee the geniuse of this and thus MAKE it .....now .......please!

Re: I heard something Krassy today

The reason PAG gave for the 996 generation was that the power avail to the rear wheels of the GT2 required mechanical LSD which removed incompatible PSM ( yaw stabilty control ) - but that was OK for a " tracked " model. If the rumored electronically controlled differential debuts on the awd Turbo , then perhaps they can again offer a RWD version with PSM - a first for them, and I suspect will be more desirable than the AWD , as I would chose a narrow body 997 C2S anyday over a narrow body 997 C4S , as an example.

Re: I heard something Krassy today

I think Porsches surprise is goning to be a spectacular introduction of the new facelifted Cayenne.. in possiby lots of new versions.. like the Cayenne clubsport (CS) and the Cayenne Targa.. also there might be a hybrid version of it and possibly even a 3door version... the posibilities dont stop.. they could even make a limited Cayenne GT3 RS.. in sandwhite of course...
