    I wonder if that’s the reason the new GT3 has exactly the same power as the Speedster, instead of 10hp more like the same engine made in the last GT3 RS??

    You need to show the gap with the coming 4.2L to justify its horrendous pricing. If you think the GT3 is already a serious bump, get ready for the RS.

    Re: 992 GT3

    Regarding the price increase. It's not as bad as one may think.

    Here's the percentage increase for each GT3 generation (and facelift). Prices can be found on Wikipedia for the german market:  https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_911_GT3

    • 996.1 -> 996.2 (+11,3%)
    • 996.2 -> 997.1 (+5,8%)
    • 997.1 -> 997.2 (+8,2%)
    • 997.2 -> 991.1 (+17,4%)
    • 991.1 -> 991.2 (+11,0%)
    • 991.2 -> 992.1 (+9,9%)

    Biggest increase by far was the jump from 997 to 991. The average is approx. 10%.

    Yes. Dolomite Silver's blue undertone is sort of like a very light sky-blue. Doesn't show up all the time.

    Re: 992 GT3

    Man I hope they put rear seats in the touring! Then it would be a no brainer, it's the only thing that holds me back from the GT3, because of my young kids.  The 992 S I have now can act as a daily driver to take me and the family on a trip, but selling that for a gt3, takes away that possibility.

    In Germany? I would be very surprised. It was possible many years ago but Porsche themselves put a stop to it by not providing the necessary documents for TÜV approval anymore.

    Re: 992 GT3

    I don't think the GT3 is a car for transport but a car for fun driving. The 2 seats are more than adequate for spirited drives on B roads alone or with a keen friend or family member and for circuits for those who enjoy this hobby.

    Rear seats allude to carrying your wife and kids on trips. And if that is the case and someone insists on a sports Porsche,  there are better 911s for that remit. GTS and Turbo.

    I see a GT3 as an additional car, not as a substitute car.

    Re: 992 GT3

    I agree that is the concept of the GT3, but times are changing and the cars are now becoming more and more driveable as daily drivers. When you start offering a touring version, then why not offer the rear seats as well.

    It can be both but I agree, most real sports cars are usually additional fun cars, not daily drivers (with few exceptions).

    I understand why people don't want a 992 Turbo S for example, even if this is an excellent car: Once you've gone high revving n/a, you don't want to settle for something else. Smiley Unless you have more than one sports car in your garage.

    Re: 992 GT3

    The GT3 is a more noisy car given its engine. Moreover, it has a harder suspension including firmer ball  joints, less noise insulation and thinner windows.

    All these will make a family ride a kind of punishment for family and passengers notwithstanding the joy for the driver.......and this until the wife starts pestering for the discomfort Smiley

    Agreed, the 911 GT3 is a great car for touring around in!  E0F26BDD-E91B-4EF4-964B-7C4204B9E420.gif

    In the same way that the “Club Sport” pack is a good option for some GT3 customers, the “Rear Seat” option will be a great option for many GT3 Touring customers!  Smiley

    It is a similar discussion as to whether a GT3 should have PDK or Manual gearbox. The answer is for Porsche to offer both options and let their customers decide! Smiley

    AP and FW will have a friendly side-bet on the take up rate for Porsche 992 GT3 Touring customers... Smiley

    You don't have little boys do you?

    My little guys are 10 and 6. It doesn't last long. Soon they wouldn't fit in the back anyways but for now, you can't take one and not the other, maybe if you're going to the store, but not for a fun drive. So if I want to take either of them I have to be able to take both of them.

    If I want to take them to a track day they both have to get in the car OR I need to get a trailer again which is something I don't have the room to do nor the desire. If I get a trailer I"ll be done with it and buy a radical for a track toy.

    I don't really want to get a turbo, it's a perfect car but a little too perfect. I also don't think a standard 911 is enough car for me on the track and I'd be worried about thrashing it. I grew up around race cars and driving totally inappropriate cars on the street (rose joints, harnesses etc...) so driving a modern GT3 is still normal and quite frankly about as rough a ride as a mid-80's 911 with mild suspension work. In other words what I grew up with my dad daily driving 12 months of the year. I'd be quite happy daily driving a GT3 Touring.

    With all your parameters, criteria and preferences a 992 GT3 T with rear seats fits very well.

    I am sure that the Touring will have the expensive option of rear seats because this is what customers have been calling for, after the initial experiment.

    As it was on the 991 Touring is a GT3 with a  "wing delete" option.
