    Good News after 3600 miles since 14 December

    -1 quart put in during break-in and she has asked for no more since then
    -Not much brake dust after the 1st 1000 miles
    -Intermittent passenger door rattle is gone (demons geeeeet out!)
    -Wife has deflated new 911 pilot's head
    -Happy with a flawless sportcar every day!

    Share your experience, too, please.

    I've now done 1,300 miles and also haven't had to use a drop of oil. The car really is perfect!

    If only I could say the same about the stereo, but hey, that's not what I bought the car for...

    Hmmm - I'm looking forward to THAT.... That's really the one nasty thing about having big brakes... ALL THAT DUST.

    I had the exact same experience with oil. I burned a quart in the first couple thousand miles and hardly a drop since.

    3,300 miles and had to top oil up last week - other than that no troubles at all, and that gearbox is soooo smoooth

    Hi Prashan - I didn't actually post separately about the stereo I don't think. I haven't had a problem as such, it's just IMO the low point of the car. Everything is so well thought out, so perfect, and then you turn the stereo up and the speakers start rattling, and mid range is weak whilst the bass is far too dominant.

    I'm probably being a bit fussy as I do spend a lot of my hard earned on domestic hi fi, but it's frustrating when you know that companies such as Lexus and BMW are producing fantastic sounding car hi fi, Porsche couldn't match such quality.

    And before anyone flames me for talking about the hi fi of a sports car, I know I know, which is why I'm not starting a separate post, just replying to a question!

    2100 miles and the following so far:

    *suspension clunking noise -- fixed by the dealer
    *squeaky windshield wipers -- replaced by the dealer
    *gearbox is a little notchy...but not sure if this is normal or not...

    other than that I truly do love the car. Now that i'm passed the break-in period it is fun revving way above 4000rpm!

    Holminator - just re-read your post - when you say you addde a quart of oil - was this because the car prompted you to do so? How low did the oil reading go? Mine is showing half full, so I haven't been adding any. Thanks, Ed

    Hi Ed

    I know what you mean - when I had my Boxster, I tried everything to improve the sound quality - even buying speakers for the rear of the car - the system was so bad...

    The speaker enclosure seem large enough to house a good 6" module - maybe worth lookig at a speaker upgrade at a later stage.

    You bet, Ed. No warning lights because I was not near a danger zone. I just checked my oil 1-2 times a week and noticed a couple of times that it was down by one graphic bar (about .4 each time). Thanks to the posts here, I was expecting it.
