An intestin comparison .
One car has sound the other one not
One car goes through corners without any tire screech the other one not
One have definitely a very good and improved front drive train.
The ''second'' faster is gained in the last third of the track , when corners are more technical .

They are exactly the same down in the compression at Fuchrohre, same in the corner leading to that section. In the first 2/3 of the video both car go more or less the same, one takes a meter the other one takes it back and so on. Only on the way from Brunchen does it start to be obvious. And still, the difference is marginal .
But what strikes me the most is how the 992 takes the corners in a much more composed and clean way. That front axel is doing marvels. Maybe it allows also to take advantage of the R tires better.

Grant:Gauss:Not sure if we will even see a facelift TBH, they could very well skip it.They will definitely have a facelift - there are many other options (including turbos and/or hybrid, if necessary).
I understand why you think that as it has been like this for years. However, I can't imagine that the regular GT3 would get the hybrid system (or turbo) before the RS does. Also, there won't be a 992 GT2 RS from what I've heard, and there was no regular GT2 in the 991 series...so there can be exceptions to the rule.

The 992.2 GT3 will most likely get an uprated naturally-aspirated flat-six Porsche motorsport engine from the 992.1 GT3 RS while the 992.2 GT3 RS might include something new...

CGX car nut:Rossi:The front is okay, but has too much of black plastic, the rear is a mess.
What matters more? Something pleasing to your eye or functional efficiency?
For the track? The latter. For road use? Definitely the first. So the GT3 fails.
We're at the point where you can be the fastest or just sound like you're the fastest.
The secret of life is to admire without desiring.

thierry:The more I see it, the less convinced.....
Hope the RS will have a better front and less busy rear ....
may be with seeing the car in the flesh as well. The touring might be the nicest version at the end ....
to be continued......
the touring will still have the bloated ass but without the wing so it will not look better.
the RS will surely look better with wild openings everywhere on front and rear and will fit good into the race-boy look especially with wide body.

spudgun:nberry:As a doctor, mother and love of cars, track cars suitable for street use are the last cars she should be seen in. Definitely out of place and character for what she is and accomplished. Her driving a GT3 is akin to seeing her smoke a cigarette. A turnoff.
A woman with children can't drive GT3? In what year do you live, 1802? 👀

I think the first GT3 was launched in 1999. The trackday scene was limited in 1802

I think the 992 GT3 will be one heck of a daily driver, when the conditions are right. I think it suits your wife and her lifestyle. My wife wants to ride in our touring whenever possible.
The 991 GT3 is as comfortable as I would want in a sports car, and a joy to drive on public roads.
I watched that 992 GT3 lap vidéo again.
And I wonder if the driver didn’t actually hold back. The lap is too clean. He never seems at the limit in corners, unlike in the video with the 991.2 GT3 RS video.
Doing a lap just under 7 minutes is just perfectly fitted for marketing.
Fast enough to impress everyone.
Not fast enough to make the 991.2 RS look like a loser.
Leaving enough room for the 992 RS to make a time that will impress and make the car look worthwhile.

I had that thought too. If Kevin Estre made a lap like he did in the RS (100% effort qualifying lap), I feel like the lap would be even faster. I wonder if they only bring Estre when they are really trying to reach for the best possible time?
