McLaren Elva

Power comes from a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that here produces 804 HP (815 PS) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque and is paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.McLaren claims that the new Elva is capable of a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 3 seconds, while 0-124 mph (200 km/h) takes just 6.7 seconds, making it faster than the Senna.

McLaren created the Elva to celebrate the classic M1A, M1B and M1C sports cars of the 1960s, which were ‘customer’ versions of the brand’s Group 7 race cars. Production of the McLaren Elva will be limited at 399 examples, with each one priced from $1,690,000.

The new McLaren Elva is the first to feature Active Air Management System (AAMS). The system sends air through the nose of the speedster to come out of the front clamshell at high velocity ahead of the occupants and then directed up and over the cockpit to create basically some sort of virtual windshield or a “bubble of calm” as McLaren calls it.

McLaren Cuts Elva Production To 149 Units, Shows Off Snazzy Designs

That means the roofless, windowless Elva is still go for launch, but production has been cut yet again. What started as a planned run of 399 was reduced to 249 in April, and now it's down to just 149 total.

That dark maroon/ burgundy color is the color for the 765LT. Would look amazing !!

I think that wealthy people realise the investment potential for such a car is probably pretty low now. Take the free money out of the equation and you're left with an expensive curio with no roof. How big is the market for such things? Not big.

I used auto-translate to English.

In summary, he loved the unique experience. Sensory overload since you can hear everything (engine, turbos, tires, birds, wind, etc). Nothing comes close to it("normal" supercars/cabrios).

He said it's scary/dangerous to drive without a helmet in traffic. But if you are alone on the road you should try without it.

He mentioned the Ferrari Monza SP2 but it is ~250Kg heavier.

The gurney flap comes up at 45Km/h. It does work.

He’s also saying he was the only youtuber that was selected by McLaren to drive the car on the street, so I take his enthousiasm with a pinch of salt. Nice car though, wonder why they didn’t make that front spoiler thing in clear plastic, is a bit of a eye sore now while driving...

Just wait until the first person is hit by a pebble which doesn’t give a damn about the gurney flap. I remember people were driving the renault spider years ago wearing full face helmets due to big beetles which weren’t properly deflected by the front spoiler...

One of my driving buddies recently got the Rolex Daytona platinum with ice blue dial for over 100k EUR. He sold his whitegold blue dial Daytona for it, a beautiful watch. I asked him why he didn't keep the whitegold Daytona and he said "everyone wants the platinum with ice blue dial right now, so I got one...". He didn't say "I wanted it badly" or "I love this watch". Kept me thinking. Smiley

Depends on how drunk I am, one of my buddies made a La-z-boy that has a V8 bolted to it..............

Pretty sure it won't take us long if we hang out at his shop while drunk to make a hot tub goes under 3 second 0-60 Smiley
